Can anyone suggest some decent metal bands to me that are any good?

I'm stuck at a musical dead end here.

(Currently I've been listening to Soulfly, Lamb of God, Sepultura, et all, and that is the style I'm looking for...)

I was referring to your post by the way, not Shay's. Laughing

Ill Nino and Sikth aren't my thing for some reason, just not heavy enough for me. Having a listen to t'others.

I love Ill Nino, good live band.

Just going through my playlist and seen list and come up with a mixed bag:

Bloodsimple, Mushroomhead, SOiL, Devildriver, Stone Sour, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, Motograter, Hatebreed, In Flames, Mastodon, Strapping Young Lad, Sworn Enemy, Soilwork, Still Remains, Killswitch Engage, 36 Crazyfists, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Celldweller.

Oh and for something lighter i recommend Rise Against. They are playing at download this year. Should be good.

Fuck. I was just watching that after I posed it, bringing back memories when I discovered from the comments below that Linkin Park had done a cover. So, I searched for that... and it's shit. But there are forty million pant-wetting kids going "OMFG that's soooo much better than the NiN version!!!111one!1"... Rolling Eyes

Mine's more of a metalcore mix.

I've got Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, A7X, Bullet for my Valentine, Ill Nino (fucking wicked band), God forbid, Lamb of God, InFlames, Archenemy (scandinavian), Children of Bodom amongst others.

If you're into your guitar work, I'd give stuff like dragon force and sonata arctica a listen to.

If you really are stuck for the current crop of stuff - just have a look at who RoadRunner Records are signing up because chances are they'd all sound the same.

I'll just post the ones I've seen (in no real order, and most of them aren't new as such, just around at the moment)

Abgott (SP?)
Turisas
KsE
A7X
God Forbid
Lamb Of God
In Flames
Children of Bodom
Devildriver
Stone Sour
Trivium (although their new stuff is quite terrible)
Flyleaf
Chimaira
Shadows Fall
Skindred
Tool
Machine head
Godsmack
Firewind

These bands are all mainly around now, seen them all in the past three years. Favourites are Skindred, Godsmack and Turisas.

Godsmack, now theres a name from the past! I remember seeing them back in 2000 supporting Limp Bizkit at London Wembley Arena!

I'm not liking this years download fest lineup compared to last year.

The Human Abstract.....

They got an album out called "Nocturne" - it defies words in its brilliance an I've listened to it at least once a day for the past month, it doesnt get old, it doesnt get boring, it leaves me in Awe everytime so I seriousl recommend checkin them out!

Also August Burns Red are decent from what few tunes Ive heard.

The new Bullet For My Valentine album is pure shite.

Trivium are a dead cert if you havent already checked them out.

Thats all I can think of for now......
