Right my sexy friends. The mk III run from 86 - 92 I think.

I am going to look at a mkIII supra turbo tomorrow. It has had a bit of work done and is making just over 300bhp at the wheels. Its had all the work done like the head gasket which loves to blow.

Has a nice exhaust system, tarty sound system, boost controller and all that other pointless dash accessories. Lowered and comes with 2 sets of rims, stock and the ones fitted. Tinted windows. "racing seats" in other words bucket seats, rofl.

It looks good, lets hope it drives well.

Has any one owned one is there any thing to look for ?

Also any other recommendations for a cheap powerful jap car thats rear wheel drive.

Taking note the impreza and newer supras are well over priced out here. Same with the rx-7 the 1993-1999 goes for well over 10,000. Hell your lucky if a 240 or ae86 comes up cheap. I want to spend no more than $5000 on a car.

So its gotta be 80's/early 90's and some what fast. I have just run out of ideas of what to look for. Laughing

And rear wheel drive is a must.

MX-5 Thinking

You want a nice 1.2 Corsa, I hear they drift really well and spin the back wheels up easily. Particularly if you fit silicon racing leads, they're good for another 30BHP apparently.

Honest, go talk to any owner outside a McDonalds on a Saturday night.

Look on www.letstorquebhp.com select RWD and it'll bring up a list of all nearly all performance RWD cars and statistics for each one. Same can be done for FWD and 4WD.

Imports go for close to $50,000 in most cases.

A neighbour used to have the poorer mans 200ZX. Like all Jap cars they are understated and can be easily chipped, tuned and raced.

Cars here are heavily over priced.

If it runs its 1000 dollars instantly body could be fvcked.

Civics go for 4000 - 9000 for the 90's ones.

Its just over kill, but people continue to pay these prices.

240's sub 5000 are ragged and done for. For a decent example you can pay 9000.

CRX may go for a little more than the Civics? Thinking

https://www.designercars.dk/biler/Honda-CRX-6.jpg

The reason why people pay over the odds may be the fact that they can be excellent sleeper cars. No show but all the go!
