Lovely bikes. I always wanted one but come the time it wasn't an option due to dad saying de-restricted bikes are illegal and bad Sad

How much did it set you back?

Quite practical aren't they with the under tank storage.

It cost £875

my parents already said I'm not supposed to de-retrict it. now they just say "well if you get caught and it gets crushed its your problem"

i had a derestricted 50 and i never got caught, but then again, alot of 50s arnt restricted. plus if your doing 29mph on a 40mph road wouldnt you say cars up your arse and overtaking you with road rage is a bit dangerous?

yeah, I'd rather be going fast enough to keep up with other cars. If I'm honest I dont need it to do 70+ mph since it is my first bike and I'm not going on any motorways.

I've never had my bikes restricted, it makes me feel sick restricting a bike, I love the feeling of running an engine to it's full revs and feeling it at it's maximum power output in each gear . Do you breathe with one lung? Laughing

Nice looking bike though man. When me and me mates were on 50/125's, my mates GPR kept up with my NSR when I wasnt very experienced! Class little bikes. Just dont seize it like my friend did Laughing

Chances are you won't get done for having a de-restricted 50 unless the Police have literally nothing else to do.

They waited outside our school once - neighbours complained about noise.

Full police mechanics the lot

Every bike was derestricted - only took one away (which he got back) because it was literally fucked, half a reg torn off, blowing exhaust etc.

Their advice was more on having legal plates, bearings, fork seals etc more for our safety than anyone elses. Oh and repack our exhausts!

Ahh good times, very good times.

well, from your point of view. I should think the neighbours that complained thought it was money well spent.
Since when has the police doing their job properly (something so many people seem to have a problem with) been a waste of money? Confused

They waited for the bikes, then even though they were all derestricted did nothing but say "stick L plates on", sorry mate i could do that for free.
But hell am paying taxes for old people to phone police due to noise, the only reason they showed is cos they could cash in but they didnt even do that.
your happy paying taxes for that then what ever takes your fancy but tbh i'd like all my taxes to go to casualtys of war tbh.

As Lyfe said, exhaust would give you more speed.

Im unsure but a bigger carb might?

You could 70cc it too, but then you are illegal because you're 20cc's over the limit lol!

If anyone is going to tune their 50cc the first thing to fit is a 70cc, obviously you'd have to be 17 blah blah.

the exhaust will give better acceleration and maybe 2-3mph top end. (if set-up correctly)

Exhaust systems on 2 strokes are very hit an miss, its all down to length and all sorts of stuff to get more power and speed.
Just leave it as is and buy bigger when 17 then pass your test and buy bigger then when you get a busa, fit a turbo.
keep upgrading etc and it costs half as much as tuning then tune when your at the top of the speed and power ladder.
