Hey there guys, i did my CBT friday before last and havent been on here in a while becuase ive been out riding! woo. I love it. Fantastic feeling going along and round corners! Very Happy massive grin on my face!
Right then, i bought myself a ns125rk! Awesome little bike, great runner apart form it doesnt seem to have any mid range grunt and doesnt like hills. Living in Bath bit of a problem unless i get a good run up! haha! Well i took ot carb yeserday and gave it a really good clean. Had a lovely ride out today, really long back to where i come from, (thornbury) i go to uni in bath hence living in bath.
Well bike was really good today but when i had taen out the carb and cleaned it me and my housemate who is also a bit of a bike nut with a ducati monster 600. We saw this bolt whihc we presumed is some kind of exhaust valve jobber? Any ideas guys. We loosened it off and it makes the bike loose a lot f power and a lot louder, obviously, as it is another hole for the gases to escape.
So what does this do then. I shall atempt to descirbe it. It has a bolt screw and then its diameter decreases a lot, it is smooth and lebgthens out and then is fattens out and has a flat end wide as the bolt thread end. has anyone got an idea what it is and what it does? can i adjust it anyway to get a bit more bottom end torque?
thanks very much guys
Seb Smile

I don't think that question was intended for you, don't go worrying about powerbands. It's possible you may be describing a power valve however?
Anyway I'm glad to hear you're having fun on your new bike and hope you get it sorted.

Is that an air screw? a digital photo would probably be better, and where about is it on the carb?

its where a powervalve would go.
the ns125 (i have one) is only really restricted in the exhaust downpipe. see the thread below with pic of restrictor removed.

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=1620719&highlight=#1620719

Remove the restrictor and you will notice a hell of a difference Smile

Also i modified my air box to allow more in which solved my no power at low revs problem.

Cheers
