 |
|
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, so 'Hello' and thanks for having me.
Nice forum you have here. Some good, 'intelligent' topics and discussions. Not like..ahem..some others..ahem..I've seen. nuff said.
I've got nothing against young riders on fast bikes (in fact, I often wish I'd started riding at a much younger age ), but as a 30 year-old 125 rider, I'm strangely uninterested in the bickery-backery that goes on in some of the places I've visited in my cc range.
I know this is is a 'big-bike' site, but you seem to welcome newcomers and 125ers alike, and the general theme tends to be, dare I say, a bit more more 'mature'.
I say 'a bit' because some of you are obviously still very young at heart!
I'll keep my debut entry short, but I recently found these links which might be of use to anyone who's interested in knowing the entire history of the motorbike, from 1871 to the present day--and beyond!
AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IT, NO THIS IS NOT A SPAM.
I don't even know what's on the rest of this site, or how you access it (you'll see what I mean). I had to do some jiggery-pokery just to get the exact URLS for the links posted below.
The overview's a bit long, but the timelines are nice and quick to read and contain some interesting facts.
Makes for an interesting read--well, it did for me anyway.
Regards,
Ren
p.s. I'm still looking for more info on riding in general (especially advanced riding tips). Any recommendations? TIA

[1990-2007] https://www.mecossemi.com/H5FrameSet_L.html
p.p.s. I don't endorse the facts or anything else on this site. I know very little about biking, which probably explains why I'm interested in their history. If any of it turns out to be factually incorrect, please do not sue me (",) |

Welcome to the forum , I'm glad you like it (Korn will be pleased).
That looks like an interesting site you have found - I shall have a proper read when I have a bit more time ____________________ I spend all my money on bikes and beer, the rest I simply waste! |

Welcome,
You unfortunately will find occasional 'bickery-backery', but it can be ignored to the most part and there's plenty of usefull discussions and advice.
Actually, considering some of the more 'grown up' sites, this one is pretty sensible and friendly .
So, what bike have you got then? |

Hi
I don't know what you mean about a big site, theres loads of strokers on here , all welcome of course, and id say that 50% of the people here had NSR's 125's till a few years ago (including me ) .
Enjoy your stay.

Welcome aboard matey. But wheres Stimpy?? (sorry.)
I'm still on a 125 (3 years down the line ) but will be moving up in the world shortly.
You'd do well to ignore Ste, just lately he seems to be suffering from permanent PMT! ____________________ BCF: Be yourself, just don't be an arse. |

Thanks everyone. I've got a Cagiva Mito EvoII (I think!) W Reg, 2000 model.
Absolutely love it! It's restricted at the mo. I don't know if it's worth getting it derestricted or just upgrapding to a faster bike when the time comes.
I'm just getting as much experience as I can. When I can handle this bike in much the same way I have mastered BMX's, Mountain bikes and so on, then I feel I'll be ready to move on. Until then, I'd probably hurt myself if I could go any faster.
One thing though, I find that riding a sports bike is similar to a racing pedal bike. You know the awkward ones with the funny handlebars (of course you do).
You can't really thrash them around in the same way--they're built for speed and that's about it.
I'm a lot more comfortable with a more upright 'trail' riding position, but I must admit that although it's taking a bit of getting used to, it's great fun.
p.s. I didn't mean that the majority of 125ers are young boy racers, but it seems that many of the Cagiva Mito owners I've come across are. |

OK then Danny I'm smaller than both you and Ste. Although it does depend on what shoes I'm wearing! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

How tall are you three? I'm not all that tall, 5 foot 7. Well that was the last time I got measured, at the police station sometime last year or the year before. I don't think I've grown so we'll say 5 foot 7. ____________________ "Put your hands up motherstickers, this is a f*ck up!" |
