I've got in on DVD, rents got it as an Chrimbo pressie yonks ago. I think it's a brilliant film, one of my faves.

"We are the mods, we are the mods, we are we are we are the mods!"

"Oy, Postman, you killed my scooter!"

I could go on...

Some nice bikes in there too, the rockers certainly have more taste in machinery than the mods.

Bit of trivia, my late, great uncle, Bill Rowe, was the dubbing mixer on that film.

Haven't seen it though

Have owned this on DVD for a while.

Really good film. Too many mods in it though! Laughing

My dad was a rocker. He used to own a Triumph Bonneville T120 and make the trip down Brighton etc.

So it's cool catching a glimpse of how my dad used to go around doing stuff when he was my age. Film's very nostalgic for him.

Love the bit when both the mods and the rockers are on their way to Brighton, and it's got like a shot of the mods on their scoots and this buzzing noise from the engines, then it cuts to the rockers and their engines purring and roaring. Cool Considering it was a Who film, I'm surprised they didn't go all out in condemning the rockers!

I came away with the impression that both the mods and rockers were hooligans. Great film though Very Happy

I saw it when it first came out in 1979 and it was seriously gritty/cutting edge stuff in those days. Can't get enough of Leslie Ash Razz

I remember seeing an episode of Men Behaving Badly where they all went to the Grand Hotel in Brighton and Tony (Neil Morrisey) says to her "Can you remember that film Quadrophenia?" and she just sighs and says "Slightly!!"

It's a totally class film. Watched it loads of times, and of coarse "The Who" one of my fave bands.

"Spider, who's fucking kicked your head in?" Laughing

Superb film, Still got it on video from original release.
I used to be a scooterist in the 80,s (not a mod).
We were a combo of skinheads/northern soul followers.
Our scooters were mostly Lambrettas cut down to skeletons, some had Arthur Francis 225 engines and are damn quick for scooters.
One of our members used to do trials in a 200cc px50 frame, weird jacked up thing.
Another used to race at Donnington and some guy turned up with a Lambretta LI with an RD 350lc engine in it Whooa it was the dogs balls,a friggin rocket.
We all had bikes too. Rd,s/ GT500(like Barry Sheenes / Cb,s / (ahemm) Harley.Oh and an X7 That was quick!
Back to Quadrophenia, it,s amazing how many TV stars came from that.
Remember Metal Mickey (Spider)

Great film.
Thought they really captured the 'feeling' of being in various altered states of the mind from speed well (both up and down) - something films generally have trouble doing.

And not all soldiers win wars single-handed, but they don't make films about those that sit in their base in Colchester organising supplies of sanitary products Razz.

You mean, it's subtle and actually has real feeling behind it, and actually means something and makes a real attempt to portray a way of life, instead of just being some modern mass produced meaningless shite?

I bet you've got the fast and the furious on DVD...

Was filmed in the 70's or 80's anyway wasn't it? Wouldn't bloody work if they were all on speedfights or bandits now would it Rolling Eyes

Plus i bet most of those "pop pop peds" could own whatever you ride...

Edit- Damn, AJI beat me to it Razz

They never made a Quadrophenia 2,3,Return of the Mods or Lammy rides again because that was an authentically made depiction of what 1960,s life was really like all over Britain.
Unlike a film were not alot of people could go out and build £70k drifting machines.
Or would even want to!
Now that,s an ok interest wise film.
But Quadrophenia can only be appreciated by people interested in real life and style of it,s time. Hence the reasoning for revivals.
I dare say could make a revival film of the 80,s and include the scooterist scene using music from The Specials,Madness,The Jam of course,Secret Affair and good old Bad Manners.
Hmmm anyone know Pete Townsend?

A new film featuring speed fights and lawson reps would be good, you could have chavs on peds getting battered by loons on lawson reps for two hours.

Would be mint.

Oh and the soundtrack should include billy idol's white wedding.

Get Danny Dyer to star in that!
His old man played by Ray Winston.(who also played the part of Jimmys mate the biker in Quadrophenia)

And Brad Pitt could play a cameo right in the middle as a pikey.

And then at the end it could just half an hour of watching the ped poofs and lawson loons alike taking it in turns to kick the shit out of vinnie jones, not even acting, for real.

The film would sell and sell and sell.
