There seem to be quite a lot of bikes being offered on 0% finance. Are these deals as good as they sound, or is there some loophole by which they force you to pay enormous interest after a honeymoon period? I am tempted by the Z1000 and the ZX6R. I suspect the zed would probably be a bit more versatile in the real world. I just have to convince my fiancee that a new bike is essential. Comments from owners of the 07-08 versions of these bikes would be most helpful.

The dealer agrees a term (normally 30 months, as per Triumph and Suzuki) and after deposit of £2000, then 30 months, at £200 a month (example, no idea on true figure), the bike is fully yours, amount for finance paid, £0.

Works nicely. Just a gimmick to push sales, but everyone insists there's a 'trap' somewhere, when really they need to do it to sell the bikes.

You lose nothing by doing it.

No catch .. traded in my Z750 and paying off over 3yrs. Saved about £20 a month.

Cant comment on it too much yet as im still running it in and the weather has been complete crap up here .. but I still have a huge grin when I get back home Laughing

i bought my sv650 on 0% finance. i could have purchased it outright but at 0% the interest i save might as well stay in my account rather than theirs. like chris says its just a gimmick to push sales and it worked in my case becuase i otherwise would never have bought a brand new bike as a first bike.

yes its the only reason i bought a new bike
got a shiney new RGV250 back in 1994 it was nice being the first person to wring its neck Twisted Evil
just make sure you dont get conned into getting new leathers ect
its easy to go yes ill have that that and that when you've just been accepted for finance
it pushes the monthly cost way up

You will usually find that with 0% finance that the price of the bike is boosted a bit to cover the loss of interest, or you will not get such a good deal on PX.
You may find that if you asked what price you would pay for cash and then borrow from another source that it might be cheaper.

All they are trying ot do is boost sale and shift old stock.
If it suits you go for it, just remember FC ins, you dont want to bin it and then still have to pay for it for the next few years with no bike to ride..... Embarassed

I would totally agree with this, having cash for the amount makes a big difference and even getting a low rate loan, can work out cheaper than the 0% finance.

When I bought my Z in December 2006, I literally went in when it was snowing. Best time to buy a bike.

The only downside to 0% finance is selling the bike.

If you had a loan for the money, you can sell the bike, without all
the HPI stuff.
