First day of spring...

...Well for me it was

It was time to take the old boy out for a spin.

It was the first time in 6 months that i had been able to fully enjoy myself on the bike.

So, i now know what has been done to my bike and what needs to be done.

The engine swap and service done by Roy at James Allen worked a treat. Balanced carbs, pristine air filter, valves checked... all spelled one thing.

Aureal pleasure - Had the bike singing through the rev range with a burble from the air filter, the roar of the full system and the chimes of the valve rising in harmony overpowering Angels and Airwaves into my ears.

Had her out down the A7 to Hawick and along up to Carter Bar on the A68, which borders the good bit of the UK with the shitty bit - i'll leave you to decide which ones the good part .

Sunny day but deceptively cold and slippery - i really DONT like bridgestones now! Tyres pumped to the right pressure but it feels like a cliff edge in terms of the steering profile!

Been a nice day and it was the first time in a long time i saw triple digit figures in any vehicle. I may have set off a few oopsie cameras on the way home but i dont know whether they were registering the truck that was doing 100mph or the bike doing 49.5 mph?

whilst the weather is still nice, i'm going to give her a clean, she's in serious need of one.

Haha i was using phannys words. I look like a gimp regardless cos of all the stripes and stuff - kinda regret not getting plain black leathers but these were 170 quid so why not!

Aye, it really cleared my head. Thank god i try to exercise and keep fit cos my groin is now killing me!

I guess the aim is getting my confidence and hazard awareness back up to scratch since it's been a while... Need to get used to approaching bends without using the brakes again and planning.

I guess next week might be up the coast to St Andrews or Loch Lomond. We'll see what the weather throws up.

Up until yesterday, i rode with my black headlight cover, but saturday decided it for me when a car pulled out on me - so i decided, why have xenons and not use them to full effect - i like trying to blind speed cameras with my glare and blinding oncoming drivers! Obviously not MOT legal but fun nonetheless having something THAT bright.
