Pretty sure this would have been done before, but the search function isnt working for me, an 200+ pages is a lot to trawl through!

Was just checkin on my bike after havin lunch and as I gazed out the window it occured to me that it should have a title of its own... so am just wondering if anyone else gives their bike a name......or am I alone in being a bit homo?

Nope you aren't. Our project H100 is called Holly! My CG doesn't have a name though.

When I get a big bike it'll probably get a name. I find names seem to fit older, more characterful (is that a word? If it is it really does make me sound gay) machines. My '71 Land Rover was named, the polo isn't 'cos it's nothing more than a means of getting from A to B.

My old ZX-6R was Betty, Karens ER-5 is Ermintrude. The Bandit doesn't have a name, I've never bonded with it enough to give it one.

The bike that's sat outside (but is going back to it's previous owner) was called Donkey. Purely because of the fact that it's not very pleasing to the eye, shouldn't still work but does and it's just generally a stubborn bike that won't die.

The bike before was Woody because the last three letters of the registration were "WDY" Laughing

Depends. Currently my bike is crap in the rain, has a hole in the exhaust and wants to eat chains, when I see it out the window I think: 'Bastard.'

If I'm working on it and its not cooperating that title is upgraded to 'Cunt.' But, if the weather is fine and its running well I call it 'nice' or 'fun.'

I've never named any of the cars I've owned, probably won't name any bike either. Never really get attached to inanimate things, its just stuff you use then pass on or discard.

Thumbs Up

The RS50 was called Jess (the name of my mates bird at the time), the Senda is called Lucy.

Most people I know have named their bike/s.

The scoot's called 'the Scoot' or 'my number one bike'. The Ducati is known as 'Her Grace, the Duchess of Borgo Panigale', or 'Duchess' to her friends. Occasionally, she's known just as 'the red bike'.
