Anybody out here a surfer?

I've got a 6'1" Town and Country board shaped by Nigel Perrow, little old but suits me well, have to get used to such refined riding though.

I generally go down to Bude or Saunton Sands but am also planning on possibly going to Hell's Mouth in Wales with a mate. Apparently it's deadly, I'm shitting it a bit lol. Shocked

I wish I could go more, I've been to a few beaches in Adelaide, AUS, where my cousin taught me how to surf. Most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Been to Newquay a few times as well, great fun. Don't own a board though, not out of choice, just skint and they're not very aerodynamic on a motorbike.

I love watching surfing.
Can't surf for toffee, myself.

I never managed to be able to get up on the boards when I was a kid.
So I just sat on the beach and watched the lads.

Ahhhhh, surfie dudes.
Almost as deranged as bikers
*happy sigh*

Always found fistral full of tourists myself, much prefer a bit of south west coast personally.

I'm jealous of anyone who's been surfing outside the UK, I really want to get myself down to Hawaii at some point, maybe when I move.

I disagree about the comments about Fistral being a good place, it's far too tourist like.

If you go just over the beach head there is a great place called Watergate Bay, when I started surfing it was a little known place, but a couple of years ago went back and I think Jamie Oliver or someone owns a restaraunt on the sea-front. Rolling Eyes

On good days you'd get awesome surf there as well.

Haven't surfed for a couple of years now, but when I did I gained a level 4 in the Junior surfers certificate. I had progressed so far to waiting for the big waves at the back, rather than "surfing" on white water.

Probably the most enjoying sport I'd done, but now far too overweight which is a shame.

I've also surfed at Croyde Bay in Devon, but that wasn't very good.

Had the opportunity to go surfing in Portugal but the trip was cancelled last minute. Crying or Very sad

What's kitesurfing?
Is that like windsurfing, only the sail is up in the air?
Confused

Laughing That's not our fault you guys sit there bobbing up and down straddling your sticks wearing dark coloured wetsuits so we can't see you when we go off the top of a wave (kicker) Wink Had a couple of close calls my self, some surfers can be utter bastards when we start riding in their spot though. Share the water you selfish bastards! Wink

Ish...Kites come in various shapes and sizes as do the boards. Kites range from 12 square metres all the down to 5 square metres for nuclear winds Laughing Boards are a LOT smaller than windsurf boards. Here's a couple of pics. Thumbs Up
