I'd get ride of the awful exhaust aswell and have it cut down just before it reaches the foot pegs. It would sound and look a lot better then.

Yeah I have to agree, they look like cones but for 8 grand, tis a sound bike, I wonder what the finance deals will be like.

And then its only a few quid for a can of matt black.

Pretty cool bike at a good price but I bet lots of people will just buy it for the badge. Equally I bet some won't buy it because of the badge.

I'd have one!

The real ones are nicer.

https://www.classic-motorrad.de/galerie/albums/userpics/10001/Harley-xr750-3.jpg

Mind you, they are more expensive too...

I quite like it all the same, wouldn't buy one though if I had that sorta money.

Yeah but thats a race one, the real ones are for on the road, I really think harley might do well with that bike, it seems as if they are opening up to europe properly and thinking outside the yank loud is best box.

That's a 70's XR750. It's what the new one is a soft copy of. They were flat trackers but there are road legal ones out there.

Yeah it has been inspired by the xr 750.

But this one is the xr1200 road going bike, so its not really a copy but I know what you are saying.

For 8 grand I could buy a bike that goes around corners and doesn't fall apart. Wink

Yes Mcgee you could probably get a gixxer thou.

But aside from my in between bikes, I want to end up with a Harley, I prefer the looks and sound of them to sports bikes.

I will have a few cheap shitters until I can get meself a Harley then I am hopefully gonna stick with one for a good few years and see what I fancy after that if anything else.

I like bikes, I'm not arsed about doing massive speed everywhere and to be honest that Harley is good enough to have fun on over here, Ok it doesn't take corners like a sports god, but I aint going to be doing speeds fast enough to need that racers corner technique.

If I end up being able to afford trackdays I will get myself a 600, maybe a gixxer, but probably a kwak.

I dont need a rocket ship, I need a bike that I like to look at and listen to as well as ride.

Oh yeah cos I forgot that you have to do that to own a Harley.

One of the things I like about bikes is every ones tastes differ.

I think your bike looks like every other Jap piece of plastic out there, but I would hate it if all bikes looked like what I like.

Really and truly I would like an old school chop with a sports bike lump in it, but then I wonder why about the sports bike lump. I wouldn't be using the engine to its potential in a chopped up frame with ape hangers, so the only good point about it would be that it is different.

Pretty much all the bikers I know have sports bikes so a Harley fits bill when it comes to being different for me.

I would not be riding around with Harley riders or having any of the matching Harley crap with a Harley.

But then I wouldn't have any matching super bike crap with a super bike.

To be honest if I did get one of those Harley's I would matt black it, brand new or not, change the exhaust and handlebars and probably fit a little aggressive nose fairing on it.

that new harley is probably more sensible than most but there are better ways to be individual

for that price you could get a second hand triumph rocket. A british cruiser which handles like a bike made since 1950 rather than before.

I suggest you try a harley, then any other cruiser before you buy a harley. Other companies make better cruisers. Harley are stuck in the past and are a triumph of marketing over engineering. If HD had an R&D budget a tenth of the size of their marketing budget, their bikes wouldnt be so crap, but i guess they wouldnt be able to charge as much and sell as many to people who know nothing about bikes but want a harley as a style icon.

But I don't want a Harley as a style Icon, like I said every biker I know is a sports bike rider, so it would do me no favours regarding style.

I want a Harley because I like some of them, not all of them, some of them.

I also like the buells, the xb 12 would do me.
