Up here in st.andrews its blowing an absolute fking gale. Was going allong at damn near 45degrees just to stay in a straight line, almost came clear off a roundabout, and had to take a good couple of minutes positioning my bike so it wouldnt get blown over once i was off.
Any clever ways round wind? just been lying flat on the tank to try and get anywhere, good laught but scary as anything |

Ride in a lower gear, higher revs are more stable, loosen your grip on the bars, squeeze the tank with your knees, if the front gets wayward, ride the back brake whilst keeping the revs constant or dab it occasionally. Failing that pick a route that offers more shelter, I get off the M5 when it's particularly bad and use the A38 instead. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

I'm just along the road in Glenrothes so I know where your coming from, was out on my new bike for the 2nd time and the wind was insane! Still though, felt better than wind on a 125. and by wind i mean the weather type. the other kind of wind on a 125 usually gave a boost in speed ____________________ Test Passed 14/02/08

Worst i've known today, had to take a diffrent route and when i got home my neck and shoulders are aching like mad from having to fight against the wind on the helmet. Even trying to get a lower position to get some relief from the screen made no diffrence.
Riding was not too bad, heavy bike makes for better riding. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I got a real big gust of wind and I honestly thought I was going to come off. My heart rate rose so much. Then I was trying to imagine what it looks like from a car behind, short guy on a tiny scooter getting blown around
I tip that I read on here was just relax, that way your the bike is less likely to get blown off its wheels. |
