Well I had a slight mishap with my van, left lights on in the back for a couple of days, killed the battery, reset ECU and radio in the process losing the keycode... I don't know the code so now have no fooking radio! Been planning a made-for-ipod headunit and ipod soon, but guess I'll have to get it bit sooner than I planned.

Anyways, anyone using this one? looks the business... price is quite good from halfords, its at £110 on ebay without the ipod adaptor?? WTF.. £90 here including adaptor....

JVC Headunit

Anyone have this or similar JVC model and care to comment? I take it the ipod adaptor goes into the BACK of the headunit not the front? (I hope cos i want it to be a fully hardwired system..) can you still use the ipod to control the music selection rather than the headunit itself?

and any idea if by using this remote, you can contol the ipod itself or is it just the radio? lastly.. I can't find a steering wheel remote? so guess I could make/buy some sort of bracket to fit this normal remote to the steering wheel? I fail to see the point in a remote that doesn't go on the steering wheel Confused

Holw old is it?

Some fiats use Canbus wiring which would mean it can be a p.i.t.a to plug in. If this isn't one of them, then its likely a nice easy slot in swap.

When I worked in halfords, JVCs were generally a quite reliable unit. IF anything went wrong, they skipped a little too easily, but that was down to either the laser pickup or the damping on the anti shock mechanism drying out.

I would certainly go for it myself as its more than capable of doing what you want in a van. Smile

I think there might be as If i remember right, the Scudo is closely related to a Peugeot/Citroen van (Expert/Dispatch), but your best bet would be pop into a store that sells these sorts of items and have a look at the charts to see for certain Smile
