Hi

Yamaha engine. Tend to like they way they make engines. Power delivery / harshness of their sports models just seems right to me. Say a fairly light litre bike with a true 130~140 at the back wheel.

Decent size petrol tank (at least a 200 mile range).

Good brakes. And ones that are not a nightmare to strip down.

Alloy beam frame. Lowish seat.

Sports handling and riding position, but not out and out race replica. Something sportier than a VFR800 though (FZ750 is about right, except for the seat designed for the Spanish Inquisition).

Full fairing.

Stainless exhaust, and not an underseat one nor a stump poking out of the belly pan.

Decent clocks (including a fuel gauge). Analogue speedo / rev counter and with a bit of effort into making them look better than a cheap plastic toy.

All the best

Keith

I'd have one of these please -
Naked streetfighter type.
single sided swing arm.
centrestand.
upside down forks (cos it looks good)
under seat (loud) carbon exhausts.
a v-twin engine , i'd like it to kick out 100hp and a fat wad of torque.
at least 150 miles to a tank.
digi speedo, analogue rev counter and a fuel guage
heated grips
i want it to be comfy for all day riding and fun to ride but i dont want race bike handling, im not good enough Laughing
Thumbs Up

Sort the riding position out, better clocks and a decent size tank and maybe.

All the best

What you want is Performance Bikes BABIYOS then..

(build a bike in your own shed... its a 1998 R1 engined trellis framed 'supermoto' ... well its more like a streetbike. Has a 20l tank and has an upright riding position.

Hi

Don't want it that upright, or slightly 'supermoto" style.

Original Fazer 1000 would be closer, with decent size tank, slightly sportier layout and without a detuned engine.

All the best

Keith

I would like:

A largeish vtwin engine (or possibly a v4) to keep it narrow.

Very low seat.

Good tank range.

Proper "dashboard" with rev counter, speedo, accurate fuel guage and lots of flashing lights. Embarassed

Decent weather protection whilst maintaining an upright riding position.

Plenty of space/accessories to carry luggage.

Custom paint job.

Very light weight (sub 120kg)

Fairly long stroke 500-800cc single cylinder engine (lazy grunt)

Upright riding position

Long travel suspension

200 mile+ tank range

17 inch wheels at each end

Electric and kick start

No one seems to make it, so I may substantially modify a DR800 one of these days.

And if the tech existed to make it a suitably powerful and responsive diesel with a 500 mile tank range, I'd like one of them.

my cg with a few mods.(as described from this pic)
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/b92c4d32.jpg

solid hand guards (doing that tomorrow)
bigger petrol tank (already on)
exhaust guard (possibly doing tomorrow)
bash plate back on
my air horn fitted.
kill switch wired up, including start button used as a momentary kill switch to make backfires even easier.
stopcock welded into the exhaust in such a manner that when i open it it turns the pipe to straight through.

if i had to think of anything else then it would probably be dropping a tuned cb250rs engine in there. 38bhp cg at the back wheel? yes please
Cool

Cheers
John

Recall a Keith thread like this from a couple of months ago. My list was along the lines of:

- Shaft drive
- V Twin with over 100 bhp
- Sporty position ish, to allow hanging off, KD, sensible for trackday action
- Decent tank range
- Faired
- Be a bit different.

Realised recently that I'm pretty much describing a BMW R1200s, so one of them when I have the cash.

May get a F800S as a warm up tho. Very Happy

Actually, I'd have a Buell 1125R with an XB12R fairing.
