Dozens of viewers have complained that too much rugby was shown on BBC One throughout Saturday.

I'm sure many agree it is better than the latest reality TV show that is doing the rounds, i'm fed up with my Saturday's being taken up by good-for-nothing celebrities trying to sing/dance/be cool.

The Rugby was excellent by the way. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Quite why people think they should like everything that the BBC shows I do not understand.

Heck, I cannot abide the soaps and bargain hunt type programmes but it's simple to just not watch them and do something else instead. Whinging bastages.

(Having said that I am considering complaining about the new BBC front page - it's bleedin' awful Confused)

I read this story earlier and wondered how even this dump of a country could muster up 124 people who can find the time to complain that one channel broadcast 3 rugby matches from a major international sporting tournament!

I'm not the biggest sports fan myself, but I think we can spare a few hours every few months to show a handful of important rugby matches! The viewing figures seem to reflect that plenty of people found it at least as interesting as the usual dross that's shown at that time on a Saturday.

I suppose it's yet another case of "I want what I want - stuff everyone else".

I completely disagree with you Strawberry, I think the home page is so much better as you can customise it and cut out the crap, like what is actually on telly. Laughing Razz

I can bet you £1000 of the 124 people who complained, at least 90% were over 65 and probably female.

BBC can show as much Rugby as they want as long as they promise not to replace Top Gear with a snooker game at least once every series like they normally do...

It's only customisable to a low level. Certain things cannot be removed and others cannot be placed where I want them. Seems to be a 'triumph' of style over substance to me Confused

I agree with the 124 people. If there were more than one TV chanel in the country they could watch something else but the way things are ATM they are stuck with BBC1.

I did think perhaps it was a little excessive.. but they were really good games (and I'm not a huge rugby fan), do these people not have anything better to do than watch TV all day saturday? :/

ffs! There wouldn't be any complaints about 3 matches from Euro two thousand and whatever! What the fuck is wrong with showing a major tournament from a sport we're actually good at?

124 people? Out of how many watching TV that day? I bet they get more complaints than that every weekend about Dancing on Ice or whatever crap is on BBC1 at the weekends right now. I hate football personally, would be very happy if the entire sport could be wiped out. A few years ago when my choice was 5 channels I'd get a bit fed up if all that was on was football, but these days you've got hundreds of channels, what's the problem.
