Welcome to the forum!

Nice looking bike you've got there. Does it share the same engine as the sv650?

Daz.

thanks mate, no the engines are totally different, bore, stroke, the only things they share is the carbs! the power output is higher on the gt650r compared to the sv650 but the extra weight negates that, but on a recent track day i did out perform the sv's there on the straights and turns Very Happy

A very sexy bike you have there mate! Shocked I'm not a fan of the sound it makes though. Is that your Evo in the background?

thanks for the replies lads, the bike cost £4k mate on the road, 2 year warranty 12 months tax got a free helmet aswell, so not a bad deal, the exhaust is from a zx6r direct bolt on

yes mate the evo's mine, its going up for sale soon, need to get a sensible car again for work purposes, she totally flies, but she also loves to drink the juice Wink

I really do like it, even after reading the other post in the general bike chat forum I dont think that would put me off one.

I think that it could probably do with more power, but that said I havent been riding long and something a little less cheeky then the 6r wouldnt be a bad thing.

I would seriously consider buying something like this as a second bike or even as a first bike.... Sporty looks, decent exhaust note and she is certainly unique.

dam it i thought no one could hear me humming Embarassed Laughing it was some bloody song my son had been singing and it stuck in my head Embarassed the 650 has enough power to get you in trouble, but if you are patient they are brining out a 1200 at the end of the year, so mine will be going and ill get a 1200!!! puts out about 120bhp at the wheel so should be quick especially for a v-twin Wink

Been doing some searching reference these and found a riders reviews site..... Very mixed I think.

https://www.powersportsnetwork.com/enthusiasts/review_list_vehicle.asp?veh=25997

It seems you either get a good one of a bad one. Its a real shame, becuase I love the way they look.

yes i do Laughing Laughing not very happy in that photo as the new leathers were chaffing my balls quite bad Embarassed the reviews on powersportnetwork are mainly from the US and are referring to the silverframed version, even when they refer to a 06/07/ model its still the silver version, the 08 model in the us is the black framed version

so ive heard mate, i spoke with hyosung at the nec last year and they confirmed it, the engine is in the final stages and im hopefull that it will be released later this year, maybe in the gt650x frame but with a 1200 engine in it, then the 650r model utilising the 650x frame as it can take the extra power and i dont think the 650r frame would be capable of double the horsepower!!!! fingers crossed eh Wink

i can strongly recommend the gt650r, i know they have had their problems but the new models have had good press and are making moves in the right direction Very Happy

The 250 he has is an '06 with black frame. Only problem at the moment is the shynko tyres which are shit in ALL weather and the stupidly loose chain and worn sprockets. But that's just not caring for the bike from the previous owner. Ah well, once he passes his test it'll be all sorted Very Happy Thumbs Up
