My mate says i can claim the tax left on my write off bike.

Just pop down to the post office and ask for a form, you just fill out your registration, reason for return and attach the tax disc.
Easy as pie!

You can get a form to fill out from the post office, I can't remember if I had to send it to the DVLA or if I got the cash from the PO... I think it was the former as I have a vague recollection of waiting for a cheque to arrive... Thinking

Urgh hate this .... it should be made harder,

at the very least no V5C no tax refund , too many people nicking tax discs around here.

Refund will be sent to registered keepers address.
So if they nick the disk and try to cash it in, it will come back to you.

That's why nicked stuff have tax discs missing. They don't even check it's actually your tax disc!
