If you did touch up the very small problems you have with it and give it a good polish I'd see no reason why you couldn't easily fetch £2,500 for it.
Things like the bar-end, it would probably be very easy just to sand it smooth and dab a little paint on it, same for the fairings and engine cover.
I paid £2,000 for my VFR around August, which literally was mint with 20,000 miles on the clock. But the guy selling it had it up for a while and hadn't managed to get rid of it, so he had knocked the price down a few times. I believe it started at about £2,800ish.
The fact you have some sensible extras that would be worth fitting in the first place helps as well.
The only bummer that doesn't go to your favor is I believe that all the confusion and frustration over the VTEC 16,000 service costing a grand has died off and you can get it done for a pretty average price now, the VFR VTECS may have stolen some of the market, but I wouldn't worry too much.
Shame to see you selling it, but completely understandable given the circumstances. ____________________ Bikes: 1998 Honda VFR800Fi, 26,500 miles

Thing is, I probably won't actually sell it.
I'm thinking maybe I /should/, as I have to be off of the road anyway, so it'd be a perfect time to change, but I'm really struggling hard to think of a 'better' bike.

Well don't sell it then, at the end of the day it isn't worth selling it if you are only going to go out and buy another VFR when you get your license back.
I guess you could drain the tank to stop the temptation of going for a quick blast on it :p ____________________ Bikes: 1998 Honda VFR800Fi, 26,500 miles
