Anyone else think my insurance was a bargain?

I bought a brand new CBR600RR in Hanspree colours last week. Registered on a 2008 plate. I've had my license 3 years, I have 1 year no-claims and i'm 24...............my insurance is £580 fully comprehensive.

Is there anyone else of similar age and riding history with insurance that cheap? I was expecting over £1000.

i was amazed when my new insurance papers came thru couple of weeks back i was insured tpft and i renewed for £675 when the docs came thru it said i had comp cover!!!

oh and im 19 been on the road for 3 years full licence for almost 2 years

21 - $190 a year on a k5 GSXR 600 and a k5 GSXR 1000.

I was 20 at the time I took it out though.

Its the 1y NCB that makes the world of difference. I shall take you through my insurance costs for the past couple of years since I passed my bike test.

For comparison the bike is a 1997 CBR600 and its garaged in a Edinburgh post code.
Year 1 - Age 29, 0 NCB, just passed DAS = Quoted £900-ish FC , paid £440 TPFT
2 - 30, 1y NCB = £255 FC
3 - 31, 2y NCB = £163 FC

So you see bike insurance drops dramatically (if you shop around) when you get NCB under your belt, suppose it to do with inexperienced riders binning bikes left right and centre.

Yesterday did insurance for 1999 R1 £580 TPFT 1 years NCB.
The Sv was £380 - was expecting more for the R1 - just over a year ago I got a stupid quote of 8k

When I got my 2001 ZX6R in August it cost me £600 FC. I'd had my bike license 2 weeks and was 29.

Not sure if my 12 year car license with 6 years no claims on it was factored in.

I was quoted £460 fc for my 06 636 with 2yrs no claims and a 50 50 against me in 2005. Im 26 and have had a licence for 4 years.

That was through Bikesure and ended up with adrian flux. Used to be with some random company through Express insurance, wont be touching them again.

Not too bad considering. Third party only was £390, so got FC instead.

One advantage of being an old fart! (Age 35!)

Yamaha FZ6S Fazer 04 plate, 1 years no claims. fully comp. £113 Bennetts with £200 excess.

I did not bother with there legal cover and bought it seperatly from RAC. If you go to RAC website you can buy legal cover for £15 or £20 joint which covers all cars/motorbikes in your household that you drive/ride. Result.

My personal experience with express means I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Theyre shitty two bit solicitors managed to lose a clear cut case for me and I ended up in a 50/50 situation. The other party has been sorted and Im still waiting. I shouldnt rush them its only been three years so far That and the fact it took them three goes to send me a letter stating how many years no claims bonus I had, first two came through with 1. useless for me but others might have better luck.

£72 fc 1ncb, cg125 on a cbt. could of got it cheaper with honda insurance but shes chaging bike soon.

first off aquote were offering me £500 i told them i had been quoted around the £200 mark they came back and told me the 'manager' had offered to knock of 60%, i had had some quotes around £250 .

what was funny was when i did an online quote for a new 1098s, aquote quoted me about £500 fully comp and then quoted me (on the same page) £9998 tpft. i took a screen shot as i was that impressed.
