Ive got an NSR 125 92 alcast model which has been an on off project for more than a year now. The problem is when I turn the ignition on theres no lights, no indicators and wont turn over the only thing that works is the horn but its really quiet.
I also need new bushes for the starter motor but I smashed the plastic bits inside it when I opened it up, will I be able get these from anywhere or do I need a new starter motor?

hi,
think you'll need a new starter.
i done the same with my starter motor for the rs.
but broke the little black plastic ring shaped thing, inside,
was told that that part isnt part of the service kit, just the bushes bearings etc.
but guy at spellframe reckoned that most starter motors can be repaired with the service kit & any other bits he had lying around workshop!
but when i weighed it up, postage both ways, paying the guy to refurbish it etc, & the time involved.
just bought a nearly new starter off ebay for a tenner!
cheers,
GAZ

I'm guessing you haven't started it yet?

When you get it started all your electrics may be working. On my scooter only the indicators and horn work with just the ignition on. When the engine is started everything else runs off the alternator.
