PostPosted: 23:59 - 05 Mar 2008    Post subject: Custom patches? Reply with quote

Where can I have some custom patches made , say I want a picture made into a patch I can sew onto some leathers or biking gear.

I've collected quite a few from the clans I've been in and quite a few of them are just what is avalible at the time , but I'm no longer part of those groups and thus think it inappropriate to sew those on.

Though I'm not sure if we are a proper patch clan in Manchester either, but this is my own personal little pet project. Which may expand later on to include this if I can find them at a decent price.

or would it be cheaper to get some patch sized iron on transfers made , and get some blank patches and iron them on THEN to sew them on?.

I'm aware of some outsourced type ones on google but I'm after some from a company which you have personally used

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have a word with Lemmy or Bess from the Black Knights. You can get in touch via this website.

They don't do them commercially but they do have the equipment (I thibk it's someone's mum who actually maks them!) and they will also have a wealth of advice about design etc to make sure that whatever you choose doesn't accidentally get you in trouble. Thumbs Up

What does "get you in trouble" mean? That some uber-hard biker group will lay in wait and shoot somebody in the head for wearing a bit of coloured cloth on their jacket? Well, if they do at least they won't have the basic intelligence to get rid of the getaway car and gun. Then they can spend the rest of their lives in prison reflecting upon what cretinous tossers they are.

If I didn't think wearing a patch would make me look like an utter tool ("look at me, look at me, I BELONG!!!") I'd wear one just to piss off those muppets who think they have a right to dictate to others what they can and can't wear on their clothes.

Right, I'll go and get my bullet-proof vest on shall I? Laughing

Yeah but they are useful for covering holes in various items of clothing I happen to have.

There are patches and there are patches, those worn for a bit of fun and those worn by idiots who take them way too seriously.

Clearly not enough times to get you out of the habit of making comments like "get you in trouble". Wink

Hells Angels, thugs on bikes who give it large only when:

a) In a big group.
b) Pissed.
c) Armed.

Taken as individuals, alone, un-armed and sober, I hear they can be real sweeties. Laughing

Would upset the House of Lords MCC and they are bad ass.

Yes they do exist and I don't think they asked anyone's permission first.

Some old geezer who is a mate of my mate Woody, and who drinks in the pub down the road from Andy's has got "Heavens Devils" written on the back of his leather in (what looks like) Nail Varnish.

So HE'S not frit Laughing

Mind you he's a pretty sad old twonk who goes to Star Trek Conventions, speaks i(and/or possibly writes) n Klingon, his nickname is something like Kaptain Kuntox the Kinky Klingon ... and he is completely unintelligible when he's drank FAR TOO MUCH Newky for his own good.

But - to give him his due, he's a fantastic artist, I do believe he's halfway through drawing a gargoyle for me.
Bless.

Completely off topic, but I just thought I'd throw that into the mix.

Cos obviously I'm not biting on Hetzer's bone either Mr. Green

Traditional.

Will stitch up whatever you ask for.

If asked, will help you to avoid causing offence to people who consider copying their own design offensive.

I did this when I was in my bike gang Laughing PUB, Portsmouth Uni Bikers. I was Social Sec (choose the pub crawl themes) IIRC they had charged £100 to computerise the design then sewing it onto something was £1.50 and each patch was 28p or something silly. They could do it to anything hoodies pants caps etc.

I was actually thinking of the kind I once saw stinkwheel post up , ie the Chrome don't get you home one, and things like that.

You know what, I can't imagine who you might mean . . .
I'm sure there must have been.
The very idea gives me fits of the giggles.

That one always makes me chuckle....It's not witty or clever, nor very individual.... Every other biker in a leather waistcat wears it, In fact, look at any rally photo and I can guarantee SOMEONE will be wearing it.... Laughing

What constitutes a "clan"? We seem to have a pretty sturdy North section group on the whole in form, unless you meant proper mancs only one.... then we're just rejects. Laughing
