A Bengal is top of the list. I'd prefer a recommendation over scouring unknown sites with all the usual blather. So, if anyone knows anything I'd appreciate a pointer. Thanks. Smile

Burmese and Tonkinese can also speak and are not as expensive to buy.

Insuring a Bengal is very expensive, if you can at all.

Yeah they look cool, but are a prime target for theft, and after all it is just a cat.

I love my cat to bits, so much so we're 'spending' £900 to have him shipped out to Oz, but he only cost £40.

Attractive moggies FTW.

AFAIK the pure breeds don't lat as long also.

Just ask yourself - do you want a Bengal, because it is a Bengal, or do you want a cat, because it's a cat? Looks alone wouldn't swing it for me.

What's he like Johnny? Are the stories true? How much did you pay for your little beauty, and would you recommend the source?

'Pet grade' (not for show or breeding) can go for as little as £300.

The cat we had, he's buggered off. We moved recently and he got out the cat-flap the next morning but returned two days later. He seemed to have settled in, but then my wife and kids went to Japan and he buggered off again and hasn't been seen since (that was about a week ago). I've rung all the vets and the two rescue centers. I suspect he's been taken-in by somebody else (very handsome silver-tiger, no collar or chip). Dumb-ass cat, I've been out with his fvcking bowl, clinking it with a spoon and calling his name (way to look and sound like a twat Laughing ), even been back to the old house (nine miles away).

Anyway, I was going to get a Siamese (had those before), but while scouring the net I came across these Bengals and they sound fantastic. I want one. And I'm bloody lonely, and the family won't be back for another five weeks. Crying or Very sad

I want a Bengal for the character/personality. They sound pretty pukka on that front.

[1] If "it" is in plain site, it is there to be played with
[2] If you take "it" off them and put "it" away, this is a new game.
[3] If you discipline them for being naughty, this is a new game.
[4] If "it" can't be seen you must have hidden it which gives them the right to search all your cupboards and drawers until they find "it".
[5] Stairs are for jumping on you from a great height.

Go to the RSPCA and rehome a cat. It's free (well, about £40, so as good as), you get a nice warm fuzzy feeling, and normally when they're settled into their new home they're very friendly and affectionate.

Do you really need to pay a grand for a cat?

No, which is why I'll be paying £400 if all goes well on monday (going to see one in Kent).

I'm prepared to pay for the character/personality, which is very distinct in Bengals apparently. The last cat was a moggie (half Maine-Coone), and he was as boring as feck. He was either out or he was sleeping, and for an un-neutered cat that can't be normal. Very haughty/snotty, wouldn't go on anyone's lap but the wife's and generally behaved like we'd all been out of order. And finally decided to desert. I don't want anything to do with another un-quantifiable moggie that has all the charisma of an old dish-cloth.

Ours was a stray(not nabbed), we just feed and pet it etc.. no expensive costs there. Cool

Hetz,

My ex bought his sister and the mum was already re homed when we arrived.

I'll sort out the details of the local breeder.
Mine is a marble Bengal, i think the spotted ones look fantastic.

You jammy git! Laughing

What's his character like? Does he get in the bath? Jump on you from great heights? Laughing
