So I look outside last night, about 11pm and think "Erm... where's my bike?"
Some little scrote has only ****ing nicked it!
Worst thing is I insured it third party only as I'm about to spend 4 years riding it round the world with little to no insurance, it seemed stupid to spend £100+ for 3 months theft insurance.

To make matters worse, only yesterday morning I installed a £500 rear shock in the thing! I only got one ride out of that Sad

If anyone sees a white BMW F650 GS Dakar, W reg with the right hand guard missing around the Milton Keynes area, kindly punch them in the face for me Smile

Milton Keynes, it's like a black hole when it comes to bikes.

Why were you planning on riding around the world with little to no insurance, doing a write up on how the different police forces around the world deal with you? Presumably the 4 years was budgeting for any jail time you might accumulate along the way. You have to take out several policies I believe some exclusively in the countries you want to visit in order to be insured there, just because Russia for example doesn't come under Europes "Green Card" insurance doesn't mean you just ride through it without insurance Rolling Eyes

He wasnt.

His insurance is up in 3 months so it seemed dumb for him to put it on fully comp when he's not really going to be using it.

Think he was going to go fully comp when he has it round the world though..

Unlucky bud, best of luck on getting it back.

The insurance you get at the border doesn't /tend/ to cover your bike, just third party.

Oh no Sad Sorry to hear that mate.

Maybe it's wise to always have theft cover, I've learnt that the hard way myself...

Hardly the time for smarmy, uneducated bollocks like that, is it?

Unfortunately I doubt I can be of much use but I'll keep and eye on ebay. As I said earlier, post the plate up here ASAP, you never know.

Also did the bike have your panniers fitted when they took it? If so, folks should keep an eye for a bike with these on as they're very distinctive. Also you mentioned you've put the new shock on - does it look significantly different to the stock one?

Here's a pic of the model and paint scheme, but not the actual bike:

Fuck me, monkston. I live in the next estate (kents hill), did you not see the fazer burnt out from last weekend under the roundabout underpass by tescos? Almost caught the cunts too...but people will leave bikes out on the street it seems. Rolling Eyes
I bet it was the same bunch of chavs who stole the fazer out of my street, they rode it 500 yards and set fire to it. Evil or Very Mad
Best place to check would be netherfield, as that seems to be the playground with stolen bikes, probably something to do with being a shit hole... Laughing

No, don't go round there normally, though I checked there for mine half an hour ago lol.
I'll see if I can get some-one to give me a lift to look round Netherfield, I wouldn't want to go round there unless I was in a car personally...

Good idea, another place to look would be the fields over the other side of monkston towards willen? Where theres nothing but mud and redways.

Had a look in netherfield and those fields (**** me netherfield's a dive... went into one road and there was a fride on it's side in the middle of it, and a full set of victorian dining furniture arranged around it...)
Not a sausage...

*starts looking for a new bike*

W564 HBV

also, an easily identifiable feature is that the right hand-guard is missing, and on closer inspection you can see that the front indicators don't match (one's square, one's radish shaped).

Where was it stolen from? Your garden or was it by the road? If was just by the road then it was probably just teenagers/chavs so its either still being ragged about mk or its been torched.... Mad

They've only gone and fucking found it! Very HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery Happy!

It was weird, I went to see a bike this morning, and there was nothing wrong with it but it just didn't feel right, so despite it costing £35 each way to get there via taxi and me having the cash in my pocket to buy it then and there, I passed up on it.

And when I got home, lo and behold there was a message on my answerphone from the police saying "hi! we found your bike!"

Best of luck on it being in decent nick, rather than a burnt out wreck.

Hope they caught the buggers too.

Apparently it's got a busted ignition barrel (natch) a punctured front tyre and broken gear lever (muppets), but that's it Very Happy

Dont' think they caught the buggers, but didn't ask as my first question after they said "We've found your bike" was "GREAT! where is it?"

Glad they found your bike, hide it better this time! Any idea on where abouts they found it? I know another person in mk had his wr450 stolen and then found this week in springfield, not 1 mile from where it was stolen.......
