Yep. All my bikes were 50s. I thought it would be fun to buy 2 really old mopeds but the novalty wore off when the RM6 which I rode wouldn't tick over and just cut out.

Nope. I did contemplate taking it round the block but I never got round to it.

I did watch my dad ride it up my estate while I followed him on my scooter.

If I did sell it I wouldn't have an exhaust to replace it with. It has a dent in the bottom of it which I was going to filler and spray the pipe black. Also the kickstart catches it so the chrome has scraped away and there is surface rust.

The answer really is no because it makes my bike individual and sound better and if I sold it I would probably never get another performance exhaust for it Very Happy

Maybe when I come to sell the bike I will sell the exhaust seperately if you still have your RX-S by then.

You could always use this bike as a donor and pinch the exhaust off it.

The chrome work looks very good. Have you replaced some of it?

Not replaced any of the chrome, it was in a good state when I got it really. Have replaced that seat cover as it was ripped on the other side, and the chain guard is now gloss black too as I got carried away cleaning up the pitting (looks good though). Other than that, the bike is how I got it. Very Happy

Just took some new pictures of it after I cleaned the chrome.

Front mudguard

One problem I had is that I started it up first kick, went into get my camera and as I came out I heard it rev a bit and then cut out. I switched the tap to reserve but for the love of god could not get it to start again. Went inside for my breakfast for half an hour, came out and still could not get it started. It has fuel and compression. I never took the spark plug out so I don't know if there is a spark. I assume there is as it was running brilliantly when I first started it.

Any tips?

It's knackered......I'll get rid of it for you??........ Wink

Check the spark plug is sparking by touching it against the engine while turning the engine over. Make sure fuel is getting to the carb ok. Doesn't sound too seriuos if it was running before. Wink

I'm just worried that when I start using it as my main bike it will be unreliable.

I'm thinking that the spark plug is wet so I'll try and start it up tomorrow if it's not raining.

If it's anything like mine then you've got nothing to worry about. I have never had to kick it over more than twice before it starts. I suspect it's going to be something really simple with your bike.

Good luck
Thumbs Up Very Happy

It might just be because I only started it up and revved it a bit. It could also be I am running really low on fuel and need to fill up.

I found out what the problem was. There was fuel in it but just not enough. I filled the tank up with a bit of fuel and it started 3rd kick. I have a video and will upload it soon.

I'm so happy Very Happy
