OK guess Devon and Cornwall won the vote so of down south we all go .
I am quite willing to book us on a camp site but i will need 100% confirmation of attendance .
This will be great fun long twisty roads , long fast roads and to top it all off at the end of the day back to the tents to sit under the stars with a few beers and the barbies blazing , telling our little horror stories Laughing
Dates 3rd August until 6th August if everyone is alright with it Wink

i also suggest newquay as theres a campsite there, as well as nearby hotels... plus its just opposite the beach.

cant for the life of me remember the name of it, so its pretty much useless info Very Happy

either that or looe, looe has the torpoint twisties on its back door.

Not quite cornwall, but I was in Dartmoore recently and some of the roads there looked great for road-riding. Ok, not that fast, but no hedgerows giving really good visibility on picturesque twisty roads - just be careful of sheep!

Anyway, rather than a campsite, I wonder if you could find a B&B that has a spare field to use for camping or something; might come out a bit cheaper and mean you don't really need to 'book' it quite so specifically.

3rd to 6th of August seems a bit odd; wouldn't a weekend be a better choice for most people who have to work normal hours?.. though those going back towards the North can stop in at the Bulldog Bash on the way back Smile.

Have fun avoiding the caravans.

That is unless you want a guide from someone local on what roads to hit.

How come 35 people say cornwall, and 41 say scotland, means that cornwall wins? Just because people don't want to camp in scotland....

Anyway, I'm up for this but won't be able to guarantee anything until I can book time off work - which will need to be closer to the time.

Ok Guess this ride out doesnt seem to be popular , so i guess there is no point organising anything , myself and Andy B along with father-in-law will be going down so if anyone is interested in joining us then great , i will post up our route and then anyone interested can take it from there , it doesnt seem worth the time and effort arranging this for the lack of interest .
All the best Richard

Think making it weekday's has killed it for a lot of people - leave is precious for most and while maybe an extra day for a long weekend's not too bad, a few days starts to chew out of meagre rations.

I don't think I'll be available around that time, but if I was, the weekday-thing would have meant it was a no-go for me anyway.
