Looking for a Hornet right now

Hi

I'm keeping my eyes open for a hornet to buy. 98/99 is ideal going by the price they seem to be. I've been looking on autotrader and ebay DAILY, also the loot, bikehq, and generally google every so often.

Does anyone know of any other good sites that advertise privately sold used bikes?

All the hornets on the sites mentioned seem to be anywhere from £1600 to £2000 but they generally stand at around £1800 from what I can tell. My main question is can anyone give me a reason to why they seem to be about £400 overpriced at the moment. I've seen 98 hornets go for as little as £1350 in good cond. There is one on autotrader for that price, but it's green

I'm after either a blue or a yellow hornet (really can't make my mind up). I suppose it depends what comes up at a good price.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

The prices are inflated at the moment because this is the time of year when most people start biking again after the winter lay off.

I'm guessing you saw them at £1300 in winter?

Alun, ditto every word there chap. I've found the same at the moment, stuff that was £1200 4 months ago is now £1800. And most of it is pimped up crap too.

I'm almost thinking about an SV instead. Shocked

Yes, you're right. I looked before I started saving round about december. Bastard winter.

So when theoretically will the prices go down?

Dunno about you, but if i found the right bike i would travel 200-300 miles or more if i knew it was the right deal, what gumtree gives you is a massive turnover of bikes, so more chance of finding what hes looking for,

Sounds like a good plan.

Understand why I ride a slow bike on the road now? Apart from the 900ss. But that's not exactly fast, quite relaxing to ride infact.

I do, completely mate. Thumbs Up Had to find that out for myself though, if someone had said me I would never used it all on the road I never would have believed them. Human nature I guess. Thumbs Up

I haven't booked it yet but it's with Focused Events. I've just booked the time off work but I had a trackday promised to me as a late b/d present. So I shall be nicking some card details soon Very Happy

Before that I've got an MOT on the goose Saturday and I've got to ride it a fair amount to iron out all the niggles it may develop after being in bits.

Plus the whole getting used to having no power again.
