I was wondering if somebody could help me, i need to know what offence code 135 means when you get stopped for speeding.

I've looked on Google but all i could find was "Motorcycle Sidecar Not Properly Attached", i'm sure it wasn't that. Smile

If somebody could point me in the right direction i'd really appreciate it.

I don't want to sound stupid (maybe too late) but how do you mean i could push it and get let off?

"Motorcycle Sidecar Not Properly Attached" is 0 points so i'm hoping it is that but i'm sure i'm not that lucky. Very Happy

It doesn't say SP30/50/60 anywhere, there is a little box that says offence code, in there is just 135??

I guess i'll still be issued points despite not having the correct code. They did write down the speed so i guess he'll just say it didn't fit any of their pre-defined codes or something?

I think he means that if they have entered the wrong code then you may be able to get off. I think anything like a speeding ticket/parking ticket has to be 100% correct otherwise it is invalid and you are off the hook. Worth looking into maybe.

Thats right yeah.

Well thats right to what I think, I mean all I would say is, you aint even got the code right for the offemce you "claim" I commited, how can we trust your judgement on speed, my speedo said nothing of the sort.

Erm, nearly two years ago yes. I explained what happened to the traffic officer and he said magistrates can be wankers so i don't think he held that against me.

I've never been in trouble for speeding before so please don't try and make me look like somebody who is constantly taking the piss.

You'll always have less put down than you think you were actually doing anyway, since speedo's are calibrated to read 5%-10% more than your actual speed... Wink

I belive there often regional codes for the paperwork and may not relate to a specific offence.
you should know what your being reported for though

Well, he told me they have it on camera, i didn't see it and i didn't admit to doing any speed.

I wasn't really in a position to argue though because i've had to order a new speedo drive so i didn't know how fast i was going. I know it was a fair bit over the limit. I'm a bit miffed though, there was a Merc in front of me who must have been doing much more than i was, i get stopped and he flys off.

Maybe that is it then, it does say 71 in a 50 though so i'm guessing that is enough to give me 3 points.

I wasn't going to. I was going to suggest that as you will have 9ish points you may want to think about doing an IAM course to lower your premiums and hopefully impress any further offices of the forces of justice that stop you.

Sorry, it's just i've had a right shitty day. I should have listened to what you were going to say before biting your head off.

I don't suppose you point me in the right direction of one of these courses? I remember when i was doing my test, my instructors husband said that a lot of instructors will do the training for the cost of petrol and some lunch money. I got the impression they were more interested in helping new riders out.

I'm definitely considering something like this so any info you have would be a massive help.
