I know there have been some recent lid threads but this one is a bit more specific.

Maybe a heads up if you will.

I went out to get a new lid today and just happened to get this one from argos, it is made by box helmets and distributed by Oxford, so I cant see it being as shite as loads of you will think for the price. After all I wouldn't have thought a company like Oxford would be involved in anything unsafe really.

I have sat indoors with it on to see if its mists up and nope, the breath guard does its job I had to breath really hard to get any mist at all, it feels very snug and is the best fitting lid I have ever had.

It cost 45 quid and I would say worth every penny.

Sorry about the dodgy pics, I let my missus loose with the camera and for some reason I look about 12!

And you wouldnt know how safe it was until you crashed in it I would have thought.. good to know it doesnt mist as thats whats on the top of peoples lists when buying a helmet.. Laughing

People who don't trust Lidl lids will not trust Argos lids either.
Unless it's made by X, Y, Z company and costs over £x amount of money then it's no good and you will die if you use it.

Not at this moment in time no, sorry if I was trying to be helpful pointing out somewhere to get an affordable lid.

Yeah check some other threads, quite a lot of people ARE bothered about lids misting up, if you dont have to buy any extra's to stop it misting then its a bonus. Same as noise which I can't comment on till tomo when I have my next bike. As for safety if it meets the safety requirments then it is deemed safe.


I hope this explanation for the thread satisfies you, oh great one. Rolling Eyes

Why is your plant being sick?

Anyway, looks pretty much Identical to a Takachi Lid (same as WTD's) but plain black, and they're only about £20 nowadays. Nobody seems to get on at them though.

Lidl lids are made by the same company that make Rayven lids.

I'm still trying to find out exactly WHO that is tho Smile

Nah I got a GPZ 500, taxed and tested for 350, going to pick it up in about an hour. Mr. Green

Private I rang up college motorcycles in stockport as he normally has a shed or two knocking about and said "got anything for about 5 ton?"

He gave me the number of a for sale thing in the window.

He did say he had a gorgeous xj 600 (may be a 650? old classic he said) I think, absolutely mint, the geezer wants 700 but would drop to six, but I managed to contain myself and stick to my 500 budget.
