I don't have excel at home and had a look at this here , with some things saying cars reg'd before 2001 have a flat £200 road tax which increases by X amount yearly.

Erm so like how does this affect my bikes? a 650 and a 599cc? , both are pre 2000 bikes, twas £67 I think for the NTV and ironically £47 for the faster harsher CBR.

Me dad'll be miffled though he drives a small Hyundai as a run about and cost him £110 or was it £120 last year and the micra (a similar type of car) is supposed to cost +£40.

As I had thought there are more losers than winners as per usual,

Any thoughts? (horribly both my bike taxes are due in May which is the source of my confusion). and of course I'd rather have the money in MY pocket than the government's.

My car, Honda Civic Imagine 2003 is apparently £35.

That cant be right
arrr, £35 extra
Glad i dont drive a Ford Galaxy, £400 Shocked

It doesnt mention bikes as far as i can see, defo not go hornet on there, or cb600


yeah itchy Open office is your friend

A free office application, which can open and save MS formats
It struggles with files with a lot of formatting or formulas but for general stuff it is top notch

Will open excel files no worries Thumbs Up

It's all about emissions, bikes are not rated (yet) so only normal inflation increases will happen for now.

I'd ignore that website if i were you and read the first paragraph on page 17 of the link i supplied earlier (Table A.8b: VED bands and rates for private and light goods vehicles
registered before 1 March 2001 (pre-graduated VED))

1549cc and below, no change until after 2009-10
Above 1549cc, £185 in 2008/9 rising to £200 in 2009/10
