Im at work, goto the loo, look out the window to my bike parked in the garden at my work to see 2 16-18 year olds trying to carry my bike out the gate with the back wheel locked ( D lock on the back wheel ) skiding on the floor! my bike has 2 D locks one in each wheel and i chain it to the fence!

they broke the cheapy chain ( dont know how yet )

anyway i ran out behind one of them and grabed him then pinning him to the ground. The younger one ran off! My co workers called the police and was here within 2 mins!!!! unheard of!!!

The guy i pinned on the floor kept saying "man let me go please man let me go" but then a co worker come out to help me pick him up off the ground.

we sat him down on the ground (he wasnt going anywhere)

part of me wanted to rip him apart as if i lost my bike i wouldnt be able to get to work.

statements given, CCTV footage handed to the police, one sorry young man banged up!

no damage to my bike part from the lock on the chain

You've got to wonder how far they were planning to carry it, unnoticed on a Saturday Morning?

It's a pity the bike didn't 'accidently' fall on him when he tried to run.

narrrr non of the above. he was just begging me to let him go. Im a lot bigger then he is and i think he knew he didnt have a chance if he went for me thats why i just left him on the floor without needing to pin him down for the whole time.

if it wasnt at work and i found someone nicking my bike out of the eye of the public then i think the bike may of fallen on him or something like that.... i just have that feeling ya know what i mean?

my co worker said i delt with it a lot better then he would of because i stayed so claim!

btw this was all in FULL view of CCTV and their are signs all over the place stating this!

Just plain dumb. The CCTV on its own probably wouldn't be much use unless someone recognised them. Good job you saw them.

Hopefully it will show the scrote kingsknight caught getting out of it and give the Police an excuse to go after it.

Good job you needed the loo at that time and saw them!

Well done.

Good job it wasn't my bike they were trying to steal - I would have BATTERED him until I had the name and address of the other guy then he would have got a beating too.

When u pinned the guy to the floor, what happened to the bike? Did it not fall over as nobody was now supporting it?

It was resting on the tank, but the tank bag protected it from any damage!

there isnt even a small mark! Id love to get an alarm fitted but they are very pricey so iv been told and i would have no idea what so ever how to fit one.

ill just get a big chain me thinks

You can get alarms off eBay for £30 posted and they'll come with fitting instructions too, not rocket science. A 'decent' chain will cost more than that. And I'm not talking £60 decent chain, upwards of £120 and you're talking decent. Mine was £170 odd.

https://www.motorbikealarm.co.uk/ - I got one of these. Extremely easy to fit (unless you want to wire in the imobaliser as well which involves adding a relay - though still not too hard) and seems to work well. Just connect it to your battery, and connect a couple of wires up to your indicators so they flash when you turn the alarm on and off and you're done.

You probably won't get an insurance discount like some of the more expensive alarms, but then for the price of an insurance listed alarm and professional fitting, the discount you get on insurance doesn't seem worth it to me.

I know it's not going to stop a determined thief from taking it if they really want it, but every little helps, and in this instance it would have probably gone off when they tried to move it alerting you to it.

Also comes with an optional little flashing blue led to indicate it's alarmed (could act as a deterrent or could indicate that there's an alarm for them to disable first ofcourse so swings and roundabouts).

I had a cheap little alarm like this fitted to my old 125 and it alerted me to kids touching the bike, so it did its job. Might also prevent people leaning against it, sitting on it when you're not there etc.

For the price of them, they seem worth it to me just for a little extra peace of mind (though not a substitute for a good lock/chain can't hurt as an extra the way I look at it).

I dunno, I really dunno, what kind of place do we live in nowadays??
Scrotey little bastards trying to nick your hard-earned piece of glory.

If, and I mean 'IF' I had enough time to write a decent answer it would take ages to read so here is a shortened vesion:

Hog-Tie the bastard!
Foot on his windpipe with full body weight upon it.
Heat a desireable cattle iron.
Show the scrote the iron from approx 1- 2 inches from face.
Warn him and scare him like fuck with the consequences of you and your mates.
Turn him upside down.
Shove him head first into a dustbin.
Leave for the dustmen on someone elses estate.

Get a Rottweiler chained to your bike.

I feel for you, I do honest! I hate the 'I don't give a fuck' scum that patrol our towns nowadays looking for an easy fix. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

The worst thing of all is he will probably get something like probation. The justice system in this country is shite. I can't wait to leave this hell hole that is Great Britain.

Yeah, I mean Ethiopia where they're starving to death, Saudi Arabia where the Government tortures people for no reason, I'd much prefer to live somewhere like that than this "Hell Hole".

Seriously, out of countries you could live in you got a good one. Stop bitching.

What has Ethopian people starving got to do with a justice system?
I'm sure Saudi Arabia don't torture people for no reason. Usually it is because someone has slagged the government off or something. Yes, it is bad that they do not have free speech but it is still irrelevant to my point.

Even in Saudia Arabia, if you commit a crime you will get what is coming to you and will be punished.

My point is that in this country it is a lot easier to make a living as a criminal than it is as a decent citizen. The punishment for crimes is far less than the rewards. The guy that got caught will get probation, he's still on the streets and some other unlucky sole will get their bike stolen.

This is how the justice system works in GB. If you commit a crime once it's OK, you can leave scott free. You have to commit it several times before anything is really done about it.

When your bike gets stolen I'm sure your views on the justice system will be very different if he gets caught and let out. Watch when you ring the police to tell them and they say they're busy.

For being one of the richest countries in the world it is run very badly.

I used to respect the police and think they did a good job. I would defend them, but ever since I have actually used them it's a whole different story. They are more unreliable than a Baotian.

My mate had his car stolen and recovered on the same day. Some kids had it, and one was caught. The outcome was that the thief was given his final (!) warning. The 'final' part suggests that it was not the first occasion that the thief has been caught, and yet all he gets is a warning again. Hell, you don't think he accidentally stole the car, do you?

Bring back corporal punishment for under-age miscreants, I say. Even if the bruises become a badge of respect for that lot, at least it will involve more pain than they seem to experience now.

Sometimes the police will issue a 'final' warning on the first offence if it is deemed serious enough. Maybe this is what happened?
