Hey guys, let me know your opinions,

I'm going to purchase a new exhaust for my CBR600RR8. One thing for sure is it's going to be a Yoshimura RS-5 can and mid pipe.

What i want to know is if price isn't an issue.....what finish would you choose. I'm tempted to go with Carbon because it's the most expensive but i reckon it's a bit out of date nowadays and can look a bit tacky. I know Titanium is the material of the year but i really do like the look of the Yoshi's in Stainless. So which to go for?

What would you go for.....remember that cost does not matter......i want to know which you would go for if all cost the same.

In fact i've added a poll so please select any of the three options.

If money was no object, I'd try to match it to what i had planned for the bike...

Titanium, Not too in your face.

Carbon, Rest of the bike would have to be draped in C/F then.

Stainless, If other bits were getting polished.

Smile

On your bike, I don't really think it matters as most of the exhaust is hidden underseat anyway. But imo, carbon eventually fades and looks old, scratch titnaium and it's a bugger to get rid of. Yes, you can polish it out but you need to polish the WHOLE can otherwise it's very obvious where you've polished. Good quality stainless steel all the way. Thumbs Up

Titainium, it looks the best, I love the finish on it, if you get stainless you have always gone for the cheapest option + I think it is too shiny for a sports bike.

Come on guys......this isn't helping.....the poll is nearly even steven'sSmile

To be honest i don't plan doing much else to the bike.....i've fitted a tail tidy (which is why i now need an exhaust)........i may fit some Harris rearsets but that will be about it.....

I think my favorite is the titanium.

I voted Titanium before I really thought about what bike you have. I think carbon looks really naff for a conventional side slung exhaust but with under seat pipes I'd be tempted to go for the Carbon, with Ti a close second.

To be honest it's gonna look sweet regardless. Drooling

You may be right.....Carbon could look pretty sweet as the frame, swing arm and tail tidy are black also.

its a CBR600RR you can barely see the end can, but :

If you want to cook food and warm your hands on it, metal ,

if you have pillions and may accidentally rest luggage on it carbon since my carbon fibre can never seems to get hot even after 100s of miles at high speed.

Carbon

Stainless

I voted carbon, imo they look the nuts on that bike Smile Ti would be a very close second though.

Stainless looks to standard imo.

Why does yours get hot? , I just recall seeing an arsey cop , in another country , who was giving a couple of riders a bollocking, they completely denied it , the cop said something like so if I feel your can I won't burn myself then? ....

The rider said go ahead, the cop did touch the carbon fibre can and it was surprisingly cool.

Depends on how quick you touch them I guess.

Mine stays hot for a good few mins.

Depends on the colour of your bike what would go best.

If it's black go for Ti.

Most others would look cool with either.

Titanuim-its light and its strong

Carbon- light but ive seen carbon cans snap when crashed.

Stainless-looks alright and can be polished but its heavier than the other 2.

Dont think it matters on a road bike, you pay a premuim for titanuim.

Usually but with the Yoshi's carbon is the dearest. I think if my can gets snapped i won't be too worried as the bike would be fucked:-)

Looks like it's between Carbon and Titanium......there's a new Carbon Yoshi on Ebay so i may make a purchase. Would prefer titanium though.

Seen them disintegrate when trying to backfire the bike, after a while it gets brittle.
