So my dad went to thailand for two weeks and i did what any non thinking 17 year old would and had myself a party....
It didnt really get out of hand, there wasnt that many people here but still there are a few things need doing before he gets back on friday...
Firstly the walls need repainting, not all of them but there are some nasty black marks going all the way up the stairs also the room im in now needs one wall redone....
All the paint is under the sink in the kitchen so i dont have to worry about coulors but ive never done any proper painting before, what do i need to do? where do i start.... help!
Also the gas hob keeps clicking over and over and over as if the spark button is stuck down, but it isnt, any ideas?
Feel really stupid now for having the party but i need to get it sorted before my dad gets back.
help please!

Go out buy a roller, to cover more area quickly, lay down rags to prevent speckles on stuff, conversely also cover yourself to prevent speckling all over yourself inc your eyes .
If you need decent detailing buy some good brushes , cheapo ones lose hairs all over the place and you spend ages picking them out. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Haha nice, repainting is a bit extreme, and depending how long along it was done it might look poor, you must remember that it paint fades and gets dirty.
Try scrubbing the walls with a damp cloth this should get most black marks out if it doesn't try using a little bit of white spirit/paint thinner, a little bit of paint will come off but if you careful they should look good as new. You could take the hob apart but would suggest leaving it as I doubt your dad would link broken cooker to house party.
If you are gonna paint mask up the skirting board and have a cloth the cover the carpet. Try painting a little corner first and let it dry for a day to see if the colour will match.
How long have you got till he comes back if you where sensible about it you would have had the party toward the start of when he went away for extra cleaning time. Also remember painting a room leaves a tell tale smell, and the will need a fair few days to clear. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |

Hi
Flash Erasers (look in the cleaning section in the supermarket) are great for removing stains from just about anything (I would leave off the priceless antiques though) and may well mean you can avoid painting.
Painting could become a problem if you have no clue. Also depeing how long it has been since it was done you new bits will make the old bits look dirty.
Regards

Just had a go with a damp cloth on the beer stains and they seem to be coming off pretty well, the stairs on the other hand... there seems to be paint coming off but the stain is staying put
ill leave it for a few hours and try again.

I was just using water, whats this sugar soap stuff?
cheers for the answers so far, weighing up my options at the moment, if i can avoid repainting the walls then i will, the problem is that they were done so recently that any marks will be cause for suspicion.
The last thing my dad said to me before he walked out the door was "no house parties!" i think i'll listen in future

Haha...Brings back some memories this does
Every time i get asked to look after my mums house i usually throw one or two, One time one of the ferrets dissappeared 3 days before and i'd finally accepted it was gone so decided to get hammered. Sitting upstairs talking to a lass the ferret comes hopping up the stairs Imagine my (rather pissed) joy!
Another time a pretty big mirror got smashed...Try coming up with a believable cover story for that (In the end i just told her i had a house party, Kinda cos i couldnt be arsed disposing of all the glass bottles either ) ____________________ www.oldskoolsuzuki.info |

The condoms in my room isn't a problem, the beds broken and on the list of things to be fixed
That sugar soap seems like the stuff i need, i need to go to tesco's and get some food at some point so ill pop to B&Q or homebase while im out.
You're 100% right i wont learn from this im doing better though, last time i managed to set my bike on fire and its still not fixed from that
The problem this time is that my mum was meant to be coming over from ireland and staying from wednesday to wednesday meaning i wouldnt have a nice tasty weekend in the middle to party in, but she couldnt make it leaving me and an empty house for the weekend, the temptation was too great and the texts went out to my mates fairly quickly
Anyway come august my dad's moving out with his girlfriend and me and four friends are taking over the rent and moving in, untill then i think house parties are cancelled
cheers for the help so far

Not really going to help but I'll tell you about my mates house party.
It was new years so we tried organising a party. It went to shit and it looked like only 6 people were going to turn up. Instead about 30 turned up with lots of beer. My mate was pissed and chucking up by 9 in to a mesh bin and another girl had puked over his sisters bed.
At around 11 his brother comes in with 4 of his friends. A falling out occurs and some eggs get chucked around his living room and bedroom
Now there's egg and sick on his sisters bed, she wasn't best pleased
2 people at around 12 then left and went to ALDI and stole a huge sign and ran half a mile with it to bring it back
https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/ALDISign.jpg
It was a good party for everyone except him. He had to clean it up with a hangover
Oh yeah, nearly forgot. I also took a piss in some bottles but didn't realise how big a bladder was and some overflowed onto his bedroom floor |
