Thinking about getting my bike repainted professionally, any idea how much it would cost for a solid colour or to rematch the old colours. At the moment the rear side and tank as original but the front and side are replacements that i've just painted black myself.
So i'm weighing up if it's worth match the old scheme on the front and side or just get the whole bike done in one colour. Confused

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Depending on where you go, I think you will be looking at around £600 for a full solid clolour respray, but I would get some different colours in or even go for the decals maybe, up to you mate.

Get the whole thing re-do to stock or don't bother. Half arsed lash up paints schemes will always decrease the value of your bike.

So if a bike is on a paddock stand, it means it has no sidestand Neutral Question

I got mine resprayed in solid black for 600 quid -admittedly, the whole bike was screwed - tank dented, hugger chipped and repaired. I beg to differ with the "looks cheap look". My bike was originally candy red, got it resprayed in gloss black and it definitely makes it look better. If you plan to keep it for a long period of time where the time you sell the bike, it would make no difference between selling value, then go ahead. But 600 quid should be able to get you a reasonable job - Original stickers are EXPENSIVE, but give www.theimageworks.co.uk - or google it - a call, since they do replicas for half the price.

Spray it one colour and get a decal kit which suits it, then laquer it.

Solid colour rocks, I had a solid red Ducati Razz

Aye, at the end of the day - I want my bike to look HOW I WANT IT TO LOOK. I don't want my bike looking like every man and his dog has one and I'm willing to accept that I'd lose out on it, but then again, It's my bike and not the person that's oogling at it.

Think of it this way, my bike got a helluva lot of looks in town and parked up, just because the way it looks - solid black, black headlight covers etc.. and it's ONLY a 12 year old ZX6R worth £1000 or thereabouts. Cosmetics are all about taste, and if you want to look pimp and feel good about it, get a solid paint job and keep it simple. Take styling cues from Killas ZX7R Thumbs Up

Certainly an improvement if your bike had a garish mid 90's paint scheme with purples mixed with yellows or greens mixed with reds Sick
