Ok then, for some strangely bizaire reason prehaps even on a bit of a whim last night i bought a Triton project comprising of the almost perfect combination of Norton Slimline Fetherbed frame and Triumph T120 engine (this makes a triton!). So for all those interested you can see the auction i won here.
Once i have collected the bike pictures will be added and the whole process of building shall begin, hopefully leaving me with a lovely Cafe Racer but damn i'm going to be broke .

Right today consisted of 8 hours on the road, 420 miles travelled, £90 in diesel used and ofcourse the auction price for the engine and frame however it's all back home now so we can begin!
Upon looking over everything is seems all is pretty much as thought to be, the frame although covered in hammerite it's in good nick! The photo here shows it in transit with hubs attached, triumph conicals, twin leading shoe front, feel the power! Front forks are roadholders and by the looks they are the short version too, they'll be one of the first things to be taken to pieces. .

Right with the frame moved to the workshop it was very shortly followed by the engine, which i must say looks very nice as far as seen it's a late T120 engine demonstrated by the unit construction and primary cover, aswell as boyer iginition already fitted.

As soon as we placed it down, the head had no choice but to be removed revealing that the engine has been run but not for any length of time, the top of the engine (valves, head, pistons, bores) all looks to be in very good condition especially supporting what looks to be a not very old rebore to .020 thou with ofcourse matching pistons, now i do need to find if these are the hi-comp jobbies because damn they look tall! The other good news is that the head is the 9-stud varient, widely reputed as the best!

Now i hope these pictures will show what i have to deal with, I need to find out what cams are in the beastie to get an idea of how the engine has been used, then it's time to start with the tuning i think. . .
