Our cat that disappeared has turned up at the old house nine miles away, looking in perfect condition (my mate who took over the old house took a picture last night).

Considering he was moved to the new one in a cardboard box, at night, in a car with tinted windows, one has to assume they have the same kind of GPS system as pigeons. Nine miles, including a major two-lane bypass and a main road (the A22).

That is some freaky shit. Shocked

Some friends of mine went camping once and took their cat and their dog - the cat was just a kitten at the time, and he ran off.

A year later they got a phone call from a vet a hundred miles away from where they lost him. Turns out he'd ended up there as a stray, and a family who were feeding him decided to take him to the vet, where they scanned his microchip. He's back home now and he's grown up to be a right fat little bastard Very Happy

I wonder how the feck he managed to get a hundred miles on his own?

My psychic powers tell me you did not lift kitties favorite toy and he had to walk back and get it himself. Laughing

Its not unusual, cats are territorial animals and have marked your entire old property with the rubbing of noses. Whats unusual is he got there alive, wasnt squashed, lifted etc

No kitty will have to settle into the new home hopefully not by pissing all over it due from moving as some kats do when they are in a new house. Normal cats just headbutt things constantly. My cats do it all the time to wipe the dog scents away. I am getting head butted while I sit and type here.

He got out the first night we were here and vanished for 48 hours, but came back and appeared to settle in. Then the wife and kids went to Japan and he seemed upset (yowling a lot), I think he was missing Noriko (his favourite person).

Anyway, Leon is going to try and catch him so I can repatriate the little shit. Then he'll have to cope with the Bengal in nine weeks.

Yeah, well it's a bit of a bastid if I'm honest. Zeeko is un-neutered and used to free exit/access, whereas Hetzer will be kept in at nights. Somebody has been feeding Zeeko long before we left the last place, so I'm half hoping he'll go with them and refuse to be caught by Leon. He's got all the personality of a plank anyway, and is about as affectionate as a nail, despite our best attempts to win him over for the last three years. He'll half go on Noriko's lap on the odd occasion (usually when it's cold). He definitely doesn't like me, and I'm renowned for my cat-seducing aura. Laughing

Pretty impressive,

My girlfriend has basically adopted the neighbourhood cat Rolling Eyes

It just started coming around and she started feeding it, it has no clear owner but i have a strong suspition it is playing the game if you will and gets fed by loads of people down her street.

Now it bangs on the window at night to be let in, i tell her if you let it in it will just bang for longer next time because it knows you will give in... Meh women...

I once had the same cat brought in to my surgery by three different people over the course of two days, all of whom were under the impression it was "their" cat (it had a cat bite abcess).

It's a good job I was paying attention or it would have landed up with an overdose.

Whilst cats can be good company, they are still little more than parasites and will play you for a fool at the drop of a hat.

As long as Zeeko is ok I'm happy. I suspect he's got some old granny on the firm, double-rationing bastard. Laughing

Some parasite, Zeeko left warm accomodation and plentiful food to take a pretty traumatic hike. I think they're a little bit more complicated than needing only food and warmth. Sociable animals, and if they miss their pack they can go squiffy.

I guess he assumed she had gone back to the old house rather than japan.

Japan might have been tricky to get to anyway Smile
