Alrite my 110 dirtbike
Has fuel can smell it coming from the can.
Has new plug and nice blue spark,
Gave the carb a soak overnight,
Put it back on today and cant get it to start, choke on of off.

It would start before carb came off but just needed alot of adjustment and would only run on full choke =/
Now nothing just coughs like it wants to but wont?
any help

Unscrew the idle screw all the way out and put it in one turn. This will make sure there is enough fuel to actually start the engine. You may be getting fuel through but so little that it can't start.
Once the engine is started adjust the screw so that you have a nice steady tickover. Do this after the engine has warmed up though.
Have you tried bump starting it?

I had this yesterday i was adjusting the idle,
and it would start but couldnt get it to run off of choke.

Now just wont start at all choke or not.
and would try bump it, but this bike wont bump, we tried even at 30mph, and it just locked back wheel and no start (back when it was working obviously).

What gear you bumping in ?
Divvy will bump start in 2nd at walking pace without any problems.

Try 2nd or 3rd.

Wont bump in any.
Box just dosnt want to bump.
The kickstart is definantly spinning it over fast enough and theres heaps on compression often nearly breaks my leg.

Is it safe to smack sum petrol on the plug and in the plug hole, and try fire it up to see if its that or a carb/fuelline problem?

You can spray WD40 into your airbox. If it runs then cuts out you have a problem with fueling.

How will that work if it goes.
Airbox --> fuel from tank --> down to carb?

Petrol needs to be in mist form to burn. So chucking some in plug hole will not work. In fact it could cause it to fluid lock.... You will break you leg then.

This a 2t or 4t bike ?

You sure all the jets are clear and the float is working ok.

Yo,

I had the same problem when I cleaned my carbie from my pitbike, did you put the float in the wrong way round? It is a simple mistake to make, if the float is on upside down then the float pin will be closed all of the time.

Just open up the screw at the bottom of the carbie and see if any fuel spills out if no fuel comes out then it is probably that.

Hope it helps.

Alreet,
all i did was remove the bottom casing, and just like on the bracket moved the white float thing up to allow me access to the jets, then moved it back down and closed it, although its still not starting, i will try that in a minute
Cheers
