Went to bakewell (of tart fame) today. Main idea was to look around the market. Ended up taking away a bag of cable ties (even if you could grow them out of your chin at will you'd still never have too many) and a jumper, because it was funkin cold.

saw this, clearly needed investigating.
It was parked outside a small motorcycle museum, I'd never seen it before because they only open 10 weekends a year.

www.mccollection.net is the site on their leaflet.

mr_fisty will recognise this!

They also had an ariel square four and one of them transverse twin shaft drive things i've forgotten the name of. and a borough superior which is pretty feckin big.. and a fair few other weird bits of stuff..
Cool thing is they all run and the old fellas that run it take allot of them out for rides to keep them going, so they all run and most are road ready.

So seeing the snow was getting a bit blizzardy we decide its time to be off, we get there to find a swarm of mods!! 0_o

Apologies for the shat camera phone pics.. annoyingly I almost allways take my decent camera "just in case"

Love stuff like that, whilst at the Red Marley Hill Climb today I helped a woman push her 1929 side-valve Triumph on the bike parking area. Here's a picture with my youngest standing beside it, she was quite taken with it.

"when you can bump start one you can have one" Laughing

Thats a nifty looking bike though, i really should get to more events like that..
tbh i don't take allot of interest in classic bikes unless i happen to see them somewhere, don't think I'd own one because - I'd kill it and - because there damn expensive.

Still they have some amazeing and downright bizzare ways arround problems that provide allot of inspiration.. sometimes its worth doing because its so freakin weird/cool.

edit: is that austin vince of mondo enduro? if so thats freakin awesome Thumbs Up

Yeah she'd pulled up to collect a short plank of wood for the side-stand and had either stalled or switched it off. She either couldn't re-start it there and then or was just happy to push it. It was a great day out for £5/adult, kids were free. I met up with a few chaps of here: beatnck2, virus, and colin1 as well as meeting a neighbour there.

And yes that is "The" Austin Vince of Mondo Enduro fame I was made-up to meet him he's a real character. I bought his book and got him to sign it, that's him, me, and my youngest in my new avatar pic. Thumbs Up
