This is in the workshop area for a few reasons:

1) My new bike must be reliable
2) There must be a good knowledge of the bikes mechanics
3) It must fit a fairly strict criteria determined by the mechanical side of the bike.

Right, so i've been looking for a new bike for a while, and i was, and possibly still am, considering a project 400 super sports of which doesnt need to much to make it road worthy.

But i've been thinking, with the prospect of passing my test shortly, I might as well save up for something mint, or as near to as possible.

I do want a super sports style bike, but something i can tart up, i was thinking an nc30 and fitting fancy tarts fairings to it, but they can be buggers for tinkering with supposidly

I was then thinking a bandit 600, fully faired, or an sv650s

Both bloody nice bikes, reliable and the insurance isnt that bad.

What would you suggest, keeping in mind if its a 400 i will be carrying a pillion regularly and i dont want it to do a top speed of 60mph when it has 18stone on board...

I have a budget of £1300-1400 for a bike, but id prefer to spend around a grand!

Suggest away!

A GSXR750.

£1100.

55K on the clock and still going strong.

Miles more grunt than any of the bikes on your list.

Quality suspension.

Nah...not for sale.

£1100 is what I gave for it although they do come cheaper. I just wanted a clean standard one without wanker filters or garish paint.

It's needed a fork seal and I've fitted a nicer set of clocks (1100K) as the faces on the originals were well bleached. Other than changing a few fairing fastners and painting the top fairing mount I've done sweet bugger all to it. 'Tis indeed the road warrior Twisted Evil

I want one as a next bike, that or a newer K3 model 750, but godknows what my next bike will be other than a honda CG.
