Hi all,

I am just getting my 1991 GSXF up together for the mot and I have a few questions if I may?

I bought it as my first bike as it needed a bit of tidying etc but I was happy to do that for the price I paid etc but I have just noticed that it has a NOT FOR ROAD USE stamped on the exhaust. Now I know this is fairly obvious but it doesnt seem that loud really so would it go through an mot?

Also do the indicator lights on the clock have to work? The indicators do but can't see why the lights dont on the dash?

And last of all the brake light works with the front brake but not the rear one? Any idea's what would cause this?

Many thanks,
Simon

Rear brake light switch knackered, yes I think the dash has to illumate, and yes it'll fail for having not for road use on it. Cover up the stamp with a piece of gaffa tape/sticker, they can't remove the tape to check during the MOT test. Wink

Not for road use on the can is a fail. Either polish it out , turn the band over or put a sticker over it. The sticker may be too obvious.

The idiot light doesnt have to work if you can see the indicators if i remember correctly.

Have you checked the bulb?

Lights on clock could just be the bulbs have gone or its a wiring fault.

Rear brake, could just be the switch needs adjusting so the light comes on. Usually this is just a matter of screwing the switch a bit till the light comes on when you want.

Pretty sure that you need to remove that sticker from the exhaust......

If the front indi is visible from the riding position then it doens't, if you can't see the indi from the riding position then it does. Thumbs Up

It's a wiring fault as the two wires are just coming out of the bulb holder but I am not sure where they need to go, does it just cut into the main indicator wiring?

Thanks
