I was laying asleep on the sofa and rolled over, I woke up and glanced at the front cover of Bike magazine and happened to catch the date, May 2008! Shocked I'VE BEEN ASLEEP FOR 2 MONTHS! Shocked

(p.s. is there any real reason the date is 2 months in advance?)

They sometimes get ahead of themselves and they don't like changing the months edition.

A few magazines are a few months ahead of themselves.

For a long while they used to be printed with the next month's date because this reduces the impression of a magazine being 'old news'. It's a psychological 'up to date' effect.

The two month gap can be explained by publishing deadlines changing, special editions and five week months in the publishing world pushing the date so far ahead that it gets postdated two months.

Do you subscribe ? Our sub to the Fortean Times is always 2 months ahead. I think they give the subscribers the mags first.
