As you may or may not already be aware the Department for Transport intend to comparatively test the safety performance of motorcycle helmets on the UK market and make the results available to the consumer over the coming months. This is a bid to increase manufacturers’ concerns about helmet safety and help drive helmet design and development forward through independent testing and consumer information. It is similar to the Euro NCAP programme for cars and has become known as the SHARP Directive (Safety Helmet and Assessment Rating Programme).

I am currently in the process of writing a University Industrial Design dissertation on the influences this will have on the motorcycle helmet industry and would really appreciate feedback on the scheme from potential consumers. If you wouldn't mind spending five minutes to fill out a questionnaire I'd be very grateful. The questionnaire can be found at:

Done, but to be honest it would only affect my purchase if the helmet in question had a really low rating.

Done mate - this system would greatly impact how I choose a helmet, along with price + style/looks.
