Went to Croft today to take photos at the motorcycle racing. Left my fudging lights on in the car so completely drained the battery and had to call out the AA, but that's another story.

Anyway, here's a selection of the selection I put on Facebook. Took around 700 photos in total but for your sanity and mine I won't post them all here.

Is that a slider on that fella's arse? The sidecar monkey? I've never watched that particular type of racing. Looks like a scary idea to me.

Wahey good pictures, im racing with these guys in august at croft, should be good against dave bell Wink

what was the pace for like formula 400's?

Hard to judge. They were bundled in with the Minitwins (SVs and stuff) and the GP125s such as that Honda RS in the last picture. The Minitwins seemed to be the fastest in the group followed by the 400s, but a couple of well-ridden 125s were beating many of the 400s. You'll have to check the NEMCRC website to get a better idea of pace, laptimes etc.

The minitwins ran at the front with Dave Bell winning 2 of the 3 races run, it was very cold and the lap times were around mid 1.33's to 1.34's. at the august meeting last year with a little more track temp etc they were high 132's to 133 flat for the leading guys.

Yep - hang off decently and it'll be easy enough to 'get your arse down'.
Not quite as hotly contested as bike racing, but overtakes are harder fought and it's fun to see them getting it sideways coming out of corners.

I've had a go in the 'monkey' position a couple of time on 'trial' sessions and it's good fun, but very tiring!

Hello AJI,

You didn't manage to get a few pic's of me and my mate did you? #1 & #47 we where the two dafties on cb500's in the Minitwin & SoT....

Seen a load of photographers there, but can't find any pic's/info about who they all where???
