Even though Kawasaki claimed the zzr14 was the quickest production bike ever made, i thought the pre-voluntary 186mph restriction 'busa was still quicker?

However, still nice bikes.

A few folk at my place ride, some guy rides a BMW gs650 thing to work, and has a 'guzzi norge for touring. Another guy rides a new bandit 650s, someone else rides a vespa 250 Laughing .

There are a few people that ride bikes but not to work, as in a guy rides a srad however he hasn't ridden it since he saw first hand his mate get killed, he has just rebuilt it and keeps cleaning it.

Then there is this old guy (Which has retired, however still works 2 days a week) that rides an ariel colt Laughing (he is the most irritating guy ever by the way)

And me on my crappy xt125x Very Happy

The ZZR 1400 is nice but i have still not had my 12R outpulled by one and i did outcorner a few at last years TT ----up until silly herman the german punted me off the mountain at the 32nd milestone at 110mph (conservative estimate that a kind chap gave to the rozzers cos in his words didnt want to see me getting done for furious riding when it wasnt my fault ) the kind chap was doing around 130 mph when i passed him before the herman incident but was not going to tell the rozzers that .I still got a caution rather than going to court for the furious riding, as for herman --never stopped and no one got his reg ha ha

Only a couple of riders at my work - a shiney blue bandit, and a guy who has a spanky bonneville but rides his shitty GN125 to work Laughing

Rest are weirdo large cc moped riders. Used to be a big goldwing there which was interesting to look over in the flesh.

I've only had chance to trundle in on the CBR a couple of times, soon I'll be able to ride to work Fridays so look forward to rolling up to the security gate on the mean grubby CB!! Mr. Green

Realistically a stock 'busa would struggle to get to the 186mph limiter in normal conditions.

Very tough engine for tuning though and good aerodynamics to make the very best of the power they have. They would be a good 5mph slower with ZX12R aerodynamics.

Fastest stock production bike is probably one of the limited edition MV F4s due to them not bothering with the speed limiter.

All the best

Keith

Interesting. Know they have been speed tested at very high speeds. Found a couple of MVs in the TT results. 2005 one came 17th out of 48 finishers in the "TT 2005 Duke TT Superbike" race and last year one came 4th out of 57 finishers in the "TT 2007 Pokerstars Superstock TT" race.

All the best

Keith

Sorry kickstart my bad the missus has informed me that the MV getting chewed on the faster bits was the superstocker running in the senior as his race bike was goosed that would explain it eh !!and on top of that read an interesting article in biker in the sun today which pretty much backed up what you said about the stock MV
Cheers
