Take my lid off before fuel?! WTF!

Not sure if anyone has read this. B.P no longer ask you to remove your lid.

BP has announced it has relaxed rules for motorcyclists using petrol stations owned and operated by the firm, meaning you should now be able to fill your motorcycle with petrol without removing your crash helmet.

The company has also suggested the petrol stations it doesn't directly own should also relax the motorcycle helmet rule.

Gary Worrow, BP's Retail UK health, saftey and security adviser said,

"The safety and security of our staff and customers is always our top priority. We have taken on board feedback from our customers and hope this will address their needs. We would prefer motorcyclists to remove their helmets before they enter the forecourt shop, but we appreciate this is an inconvenience and difficult to enforce and we do not wish to create any potential conflict for our staff and customers"

Signs asking customers to remove any headgear will remain in place as "These are seen as a request rather than instruction."

I feel proud to have been a part of this.

they should have a thing for you to put your lid in.
and so no one can nick it.
how are you ment to ride without a lid or gloves.
I wont put it on the floor all that petrol diesel on your lid no thanks.
I balanced it on my shoei lid on my cbr400 and went back and it was on the floor when i got back was not happy.
payed my taxes and got to get another lid only £200 never mind i now wont take my helmet off.
just hold people up then they will let you have the petrol.

I get annoyed when they ask me to take the lid off before they turn the pump on, but thats one thing, Asking you to remove it when you are standing at the till, cash/card in hand is simply an exercise in what they can force you to do...

If they refuse to accept payment holdup the cash or card clearly visible to the CCTV state in a loud voice "SO YOU WILL NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT THEN?" and if they continue walk out, and ring your local police station at your convenience and explain, saying the CCTV will back you up...

I have got to the point where i purposefully avoid certain petrol stations around london that get shitty about this, When they refuse to turn the pump on as motorist come in around me and get theirs turned on in seconds i just throw all the pumps on the floor as hard as i can, give them the and ride off, never to return to that station...

Legally you have to be 16 to use a petrol pump

(16 or older obviously, before some pedantic twat points it out)

I've never seen it stated at a bank that you're not allowed to rob it. I doubt I could make a case for it though.

Presumably if somebody who is obviously under 16 tries to get petrol the attendants can switch off the pump and tell them.

Just had a thought. Nexst time I'm asked to take my lid off I shall take a several photos of the person asking me just incase my card is cloned or copied or Iam given a dodge note back in my change. all for security reasons of course. Oh and I will get them to remove any head wear be it a baseball cap or a scarf.

Every filling station near me has 'No under 16's' sign.

Ive now lernt which station will let me put fuel in with the lid on, and I avoid the stations that wont.
If im on a short journey to work and I need fuel, im not that geared up so taking the lid off is no problem.
But its when I go away, I have everything on, thats when I know which stations to choose. Even if I end up paying 1-2p more, just saves taking everything off.
And with us women (with me anyway) I have to perfect everything - normally looking in the mirror too
