Was rolling up in town the other day the same was as I have done ever since the great days of me NSR, only this time there was a small hickup.
I park in what is technically a push bike area, and it requires one to ride into a courtyard/walkway type area. As I came off the road and into the area some grouchy old hag (excuse my bias) comes from behind a wall with a trail of kids duckling style, now I was only doing say 3mph tops, had both brakes covered and stopped well in time to avoid any risk to anyone but she decides to loose it with me and starts going on about how its a path not a bloody road etc (fair point) before laying into me. Now this may not have been the best idea but I told her exactly where she could shove it and revved the engine...just to emphasise the point lol at which point she says she will be telling the police about this, so the question is, should I be worried?
Points i have considered:
Bikes all use the bicycle areas all around the town centre
Cops and parking attendants have seen this and never said a word
Would be by words against hers
Area has those dropping bollards to allow vans and such like in
But:
I was I admit in the wrong being on the pavement
would have been plenty of witnesses as well as CCTV
If she was serious she will have got me plate as well

Now in the unlikely event (I hope) that she does pursue this, what would one expect to be the punishment?

I doubt whether anything will come of it.

You could, however, try not to be a dick about it next time. You were entirely in the wrong. Shouting at someone who was simply protecting her children, and then revving the engine in a threatening manner is twattish behavior.

You should not be on the path in the first place, simple as. I don't even ride my pushbike on the pavements, since it is dangerous for pedestrians. If you want to keep using that parking area, you have two choiuces:

1. Get off and pusth the bike there;
2. Accept that once in a while someone will object to your potentially dangerous behaviour, and you will have to apologise for it.

Kicking off in return really was a shitty thing to do.

I agree, you will likely hear nothing, and if you do it will be a slap on the wrists.

But out of order reving at her, Whenever i use pavements or forwhatever reason i will just sit there quietly on the bike untill all peds have got out the way, Just as i get angry when lemmings step out onto the road without looking, on the pavement you are on their domain, so if you are being a twat, man up and take the abuse.

Was riding down a narrow road earlier this afternoon, a volvo and a people carrier decided to stop, i presume to load/unload and generally have a chat, either way they were blocking the road and i was in no mood to be waiting for them. I just gently and quietly mounted the pavement, so quietly infact one of the passengers of one of the cars dident see/hear me coming at 1mph, her friend grabbed her arm and pulled her out the way, i proceeded past at 1mph with low revs, dirty looks and all from them, dropped down on the kerb and pulled a crappy little wheelie away, as if to show them how considerate i WAS being when i was on the pavement.

What do you expect if you're in the wrong. At least kick off when you're in the right next time aye. Wink

Stop pissing people off and you won't get shouted at so much.

Meh. No point denying it Wink I'm only a twat when people are arsey with me though, I'm quite happy to peacefully co-exist otherwise.
