bike test

i am booking my bike test as i have been riding a 125 for about 5 months and want to move up. i want to take the test on my own bike as that is what i am used to riding and hate those sr125's. anyway what do i need to take the test on my bike, its and aprilia rs125 11kw. will i have to have a restriction certificate. i persume i will also have to bring my v5 and mot certificate but am i missing anything?

Can you do a three point turn on your RS125 on a tight road ? I dont think I could !!

You'll be asked to turn your bike around whilst not on the bike and even if its full lock, you can make it then you will have to ride your three point turn.

Foot down = Fail
Go out and see if you can do it !!

Take a couple of lessons and use the schools bike, whats the worst that could happen ?? The instructor will show you the routes your likely to take pointing out any little tricky areas, will make sure your riding is up to standard and help you become a better rider.

Yes its extra money But any training on a bike is good training. Doesnt matter if you have been riding a week or 10 years you can always learn something new that might save your life Wink

i agree with the above. I took my A2 after riding my sr 125 (hey! whats wrong with 'em? Laughing

) for 6 months. A week before my test I had a days worth of training and it was definitely worth it

as above, u-turns are probably the hardest bit. For a few weeks before my test I rode down to a local quiet estate and just practised and practised them. it did wonders for my confidence. and that together with the training I received allowed me to go to the test centre with the confidence to pass. Thumbs Up

i see your points but i am fully confident of doing the test without anymore lessons and i can do u turns on my rs, probably better then i could on a sr125 as its an easier seating postion to be in. those sr's are way too small for me. i'd rather do the test on a bike i feel more comfortable with. anyway will i have to bring a restriction cert to the test to prove its 11kw.
