 |
|
Well thanks to the top reviews and recommendations on here I went down to my local dealer today and put £100 deposit on a 2003 SV650S
First impressions of this bike were ace apart from the fact it is alot bigger than the CBR125, it does need some things doing to it.
They said they will put a lower seat on it for free as they have one in stock and they will just swap it over, it only needs to be lowered 1" or so
Is there any advice on riding a bigger bike (apart from dont twist it back all the way) or shall I just take it easy until I get used to the size, weight wasn't too much of a problem either
Just need to get my test passed now and i'm in! good motivator though.

Don't worry if you stall it. If you do stall it then don't panic and give it loads of revs and almost wheelie whilst pulling away.
I was given that advice from another rider yesterday after I had done exactly that in front of him 3 weeks after getting a "real" bike
It's a throttle not a switch |

the first thing i did after getting off a cbr125 and onto an sv650s was to pin the throttle on every bit o straight road. I crashed 2 weeks later, take it in gradual steps... ____________________ follow my racing season

Thanks people, I think just getting used to the size and position will be the major part and after that, like half-lyfe said just take it gradually so you know when its going to bite you in the ass
