hi all,

i have seen a hornet for sale, it is a 2002 model, but was registered in 2006.

is there a chance it could be an import?, or just a case of its been sitting around in a showroom for 4 years before being registered? Confused

it is in mint condition and has low mileage, like 4000 ish.

i have e-mailed him and asked if it is an import or not, and he says he doesnt know.... Confused

is there anything wrong with imports? and should i avoid them?

thanks if anyone can help Thumbs Up Mr. Green

It will say on the logbook front page 'originally registered overseas' or something like that. That's what mine said.

A UK bike will say 'Declared new at first registration'.

Sounds like an import, and I don't think that there is anything seriously wrong with them - although that one does have a long gap between manufacture an UK import, which could mean the history is suspect - I would like to look very carefully at service records and supporting invoices to prove its genuine miles and well maintained etc.

Mines says we declared made in 2003 or summit, but it was imported (from Germany where the guy was stationed) to the uk in 2005 I think it was.

Nowt wrong with em, I had these worries when I was buying mine. Its bob on same as a UK bike. Speedo is in kph but has a converter on it and a sticker saying mph lol
