i went out the other night, and thinking it wasnt as cold as it was, and that i wasnt going as far as it turned out i was, i didnt wear gloves. (i was going to a casino, didnt know if they had a cloak room for bike gear...
end result frozen hands. a couple of "thaw out" stops.
on the way home, i stopped at a petrol station, and grabbed me some of those plastic "ewww i dont want my hands to smell of petrol" gloves. 2 on each hand and i set off again. they actually helped quite a bit. hands were still chilly, but i could feel my finger tips, and didnt have to stop again.
just an idea for you all in case you ever get caught out...

In the snow and heavy rain I wear a pair under my summer gloves.

Cant wear winter gloves as they feel too thick and clumsy.

You can buy a box online for very little money and also come in handy when doing chain work Thumbs Up

I have a box of nice green ones with talc inside Laughing I always keep some under my seat, they are great if it rains and gloves get wet you can put a pair on under the gloves. They also stop your hands getting too dirty when doing any work on bike. Very Happy

GF is a nurse so my house is filled with the white latexy doctors ones, apparently germs are everywhere and we're all going to die of them you know.

Dont they make your hands sweat like a bastard (a particularly sweaty one) though?
