Few bikes im considering at the moment...

CBR600FX

Thundercat

ZZR600

GSXR600 SRAD

just wondered general views or reviews on them, what they like to live with? are they noticably lardy in handling compared to a 400?

ZZR will be lardy, and the thundercat will be less lardy, but more lardy than the others.

SRAD is very focussed, and actually physically quite large, but is light and powerful and handles pretty well.

The CBR has a little more midrange than the SRAD, but will still get you to stupid speeds. It will get you to stupid speeds in more comfort than the SRAD though.

Only ridden CBR6 and SRAD. CBR600 is a better bike imho. I'd still buy an SRAD over one though.

I thought the SRAD was tiny, I like the look of the SRAD best.

I've had a little perch on an srad before, and kind of disappeared behind the screen and fairing. It feels a fair bit bigger and chunkier than the CBR but i dont know how this translates to handling. Dont want something too big as main thing i like on my 30 is that its quite compact and it gives me confidence to throw it about. Unfortunately i dont think i can afford a modern 6 really so im left with this issue.

On paper i think the CBR comes up top but theres something that makes me think i dont actually want one... dunno if its the way it looks or because they are considered a bit bland, which then made me think if im gonna be going for bland but capable maybe think of alternatives such as the thundercat or zzr. Deep down i think the SRAD appears to be the bike i'd love to thrash about but I also prefer hondas for the parts service and build quality.

Any other suggestions to alternative sporty 6s?

Your perfect bike:

Wink ,

The differences are

CBR600F / Thundercat/ ZZR600 more ST I think.

SRAD is sportier.

However it doesn't matter which one you get since all of them have very high levels of handling , acceleration , top end and brakes , all of which are quite high and which 90% of riders will never hit.

Thus you should look for reliability and build quality. All of them are IL4s though and thus a fair bit fatter than a '30

Don't take other people hitting bikes limits as something bad, I hit the CBR's limits down in France a couple times, I look back and think I was really really stupid.

Was literally just looking at that on the autotrader Razz i feel like ive had enough of 400's though. Want something thats easier to fix Razz im still veering towards the CBR but only by default as it seems to tick most the right boxes. Or maybe i just get a hack till i can afford a modern 6... just tired of fixing stuff though.

I'd say go for the thundercat if you want a 600 that is fast but comfy and well suited to the road.

It you want a more sporty but less comfortable bike then go for GSXR600 SRAD.
